Description

Installed "fatmat" type material on underside of roof. all of floors. inside of body side panels. and inside of door panels. Before "Fatmat" I used POR15 paint on all floors and inside of door bottoms. I had the stainless trim professionally polished and numerous small trim pieces re-chromed. including the rear bumperettes. The front bumper is obviously a survivor and therefore. not as straight and bright as a new one would be. I purchased a NOS dash speedometer/gauge assembly. but at 250 miles the odometer quit working. I would guesstimate the total miles I've put on the car to be less than 6k miles. The pictures of the engine compartment are from before I had the car on the road. There are 2 quarter size dimples on the roof at the rear passenger side luggage rack holder screw. (you'll notice 3 screws along the edge of the roof on each side of the car. these are to anchor the factory made roof rack that runs almost the entire length of the roof). I think someone knocked something off the loft in the garage above where the car has been parked. luckily I keep a cover on it so the dimples aren't scratched. I have the original key that fits all the door locks. but. I put a new spring in the driver's side door latch so the outside handle would stay horizontal. The spring was so stiff it was too difficult to close the door tight. So I found a used one which held it's handle up in the pictures the person selling it had showed me. The person sent me the entire linkage and latch rather than take apart the latch to get the spring. The assembly was in very nice shape. so I put the whole thing in my car. After I had the door all together. door panel and all. I found that the lock in the latch wouldn't work. So I haven't taken the time to take the door panel back off and change back to the original latch so all the doors will all lock. The "well" in the middle of the steering wheel where the horn "button" assembly sits. has had the bake-a-lite worn off of the contact mounting points. So if I put the fuse in the holder. the horn is constantly on. I made "gasket" to lay in the "well" out of a large yogurt container. and it worked for a couple of months. I may be able to coat the mounting points with epoxy to act as an insulator. I puchased the car from the son-in-law of the 2nd owner. who had passed away. The son-in-law was selling the car for the original owner's wife. This year Duett didn't originally have the style brake master cylinder with the resevoir on the firewall. I purchased the kit with the new cylinder lid w/line going up to the remote jug. This year Duett also didn't have backup lights. which I added. The tires on the car are larger than the original metric radials of the '60s. When I had passengers in the rear seat and went over sizable dips in the street. I could hear the rear tires touch on the body of the wheel wells. I installed airbags between the leaf springs and the frame. The car is listed locally & I reserve the right to end the auction in the event of a local sale. I'm willing to make myself available as needed to get the car loaded on buyer's means of shipping. Including packing up spare parts buyer may want included.
