Description
Up for auction is my 1973 Volvo 1800ES. I purchased this car from a lady in Fresno Calif. in 1990 and drove it home the same day. For a couple of years it was my summer daily driver. I took it off the road to repaint it and replace the rubber door and hatch back seals. Too many projects got in the way so nothing was done except to start the engine now now then and to rebuild the brakes. I do not expect to get on with the project any time soon so it is time to sell. The car is VERY solid. I recently spent a long time looking for any rust and found 1 small spot above the chrome on the right side door as will as two spots of simiilar size below the trim on the hatchback opening. These are shown in the last two pictures. Aside from that I could not find ANY rust visually or using a magnet. The windscreen has a scratch on the passenger side from the wiper. The door and hatch seals should be replaced. The worst feature is the paint with many tiny pin size bubbles on the top coat as well as a few chip. The B20 engine runs well altho' it could do with a tune up since it has not been run extensively for the last 15 or so years. The 4-speed with overdrive is smooth without any issues. I don't think the car has ever been smoked in. All in all this would be an ideal car to transform into a really nice restored example with most of the required work being cosmetic in nature (paint. body seals. carpets and the engine bay tidied up). There are some spares including the hard to find rear hatch glass door. a nice set of complete tail lights. a engine computer as well as a few misc. relays. PLEASE ask any questions before bidding on this non reserve auction or call me (Hugh) at 250-652-8441. A deposit of $500 is required via Paypal soon after the end of the auction. The balance by bank check. direct bank deposit or cash on pick-up. I still have the original California title so if the purchaser is in the US then there will not be any duty payable. I can arrange for overseas shipping.
