Description

Hereby offered for sale is a 1966 Volvo 1800S sports coupe that has been stored in a cool dry garage for 20 years. The car is fundamentally sound but a little rough around the edges. With some restoration work and TLC this car could be restored to the point where it is a like-new beauty. To help in that regard it comes with a parts car as shown in the photos. The parts car is a nearly identical 1967 Volvo 1800S.Body: The body is in great condition. It is the best part of the car. There are no dents. There is very little rust on the body and I was meticulous about rinsing out the wheel wells every time I drove in winter. There is some rust on the chrome bumpers. Engine: I have not tried to start the engine for about 15 years but when the car was running it started up like a champ and was running very smoothly but did burn a trace amount of motor oil. This car was sturdy enough of a workhorse to be in regular daily service despite being nearly 30 years old at the time. And since then it's been in storage since without significant further wear.Interior: Overall that the quality of the leather vinyl and upholstery is good. But there are certainly tears and imperfections. Examples are in the photos.Dashboard: The odometer has never worked as long as I have owned the car. I believe the car has over 100000 miles on it.Car History: I purchased this car in 1992 and used it every day for two years to commute locally and do errands around town. It was maintained by the local Volvo dealership whose mechanics were no doubt quite amused to be working on this car from another era. The previous owner told me that the car was originally a California car that had migrated east with a prior owner. I added after-market fog lights to the front bumper (they are now broken) and a bunch of stickers to the rear windows.Extras: Besides the parts car you also get a number of replacement engine parts as shown in the photos repair manuals two spare tires a perfectly tailored cloth cover and even custom-tailored furry seat covers if you want them.Transaction Terms: A $500 deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment is due within 7 days of auction close by either certified check money order or cash in person. I will not accept PayPal for full payment only for the deposit. Buyer is responsible for shipping or picking up in person.I am happy to answer any and all questions. Good luck!!
