Description

This is a rough but solid old Volvo 240. Offered at NO RESERVE. This is NOT a show car so if you are looking for one just keep looking. The pictures actually make it look better than it looks in person which is typical. I have owned 5 200/700 series cars and this one still has the smoothest running engine of the lot. I bought the car in Colorado in late Feb 2008 with about 218000 miles. It recently hit 300K. One of my sons and I flew out and drove it home. My oldest son drove it throughout college then my second son finished college with it and has used it as a daily driver since graduation. It has a nice set of tires with about10000 miles on them mounted on 15 inch Volvo Turbo wheels. The AC is not functional. The light tan interior has a lot of stains but is not ripped. The dash has many cracks and the center console around where the seat belts attach is missing. The glove box door falls open sometimes so the boys used a high tech solution and duct taped it.There are no real rust issues that I am aware of other than a few small paint spots that need touched up. The paint is original as far as I know. It does have plenty of minor dents dings and abrasions but no significant dents. The trim is pretty rough all over. The underside of the car is solid as far as I can tell. The mileage is slightly off since I had to change odometer gears a few years ago but it is very close. The left side mirror glass is missing. It has rattles and clunks. The rear end clunks if you get on it while shifting it may have another worn bushing in the suspension causing it. I actually think it always has done that. The engine runs great and always has. I have always used Mobil 1 synthetic and changed the oil every 6k it still uses almost no oils even with 300k on it. Most lights work as does the horn power windows and central locking. The following is a list of things that I have done to it since I have owned it some more that once. I have no real maint records from before I owned it. Some of the items on the list below failed but most I changed as preventative maint since I now my sons would be out on the road with it.Adjusted valves.Replaced Windshield and wiper motorReplaced front rotors all pads and rear calipersReplaced outer/inner tie rods and steering rackReplace ball jointsReplaced struts and top mountsReplaced front wheels bearings and right rear bearingReplaced transmission and rear end lubeReplaced rear shocksReplaced belt hoses and radiatorReplaced timing belt seals and water pumpReplaced fuel filterReplaced batteryReplaced clutch trans mount motor mounts and rear u-jointReplaced the turn signal switchReplaced the power steering pumpReplaced rear torque arm bushingsReplaced starterReplaced plugs plug wires rotor cap and rotor buttonReplaced sections of the exhaust Please contact me if you have any questions or need more pictures. If you want to talk to me on the phone that can be arranged as well.
