Penned by famed designer, rook Stevens (Miller Brewing logo, arley-Davidson Hydra-Glide, scar Meyer Weinermobile, tc.), nd introduced in 1946, he Willys-Overland ‘Jeep’ Station Wagon was an instant success in a buoyant post-war environment that was ripe for such stylish, ulti-talented machine treading on the reputation Jeep built in War time.
This Wagon, 1949 model, s presented in fabulous Tunisian Red with matching burgundy interior. The body-on restoration is done to a very nice standard with all new paint, ew upholstery, e-finished wooden floor slats, ew headliner, efurbished original steering wheel, orrect style bias ply tires, ew chrome, nd much more. Turn signals were added in the restoration along with SW auxiliary oil pressure and water temp gauges.
The work appears to have been completed c.1999-2000. In the spring of 2001, t was acquired by the Sunbelt Auto Museumin Las Vegas, V, here it stayed until 2015. As the car had been predominantly static for a decade and a half, e completed a full inspection and attended to many recommended items including new fuel tank, arburetor rebuild, ebuilt steering box, rake system rebuild, ew wheel cylinders, attery, nd more. The invoice for $4,040 is included with purchase along with recent history for the car.
