Owned from 1946 thru 2010 by 1-owner until he died. this garage kept Willys is the best original Jeep I have ever found. This is an investment quality Jeep. this belongs in a collection where it can be preserved and enjoyed. They don't make these anymore. and the orignal ones are more sought after than any restored one. The following details are what I have observed for myself and learned from the family of the previous owner: The Normandy Blue paint is still shiny and original on the body. the interior and bed area was primered by the original owner with 2 different coats of primer to preserve the finish. A pressure washer has removed some of the primer. revealing the Normandy Blue underneath. The Jeep runs and drives very well. The brakes have all been replaced with new parts (most of the orig stuff is saved in a box). and this Jeep stops very well. The steering system has been rebuilt. there is no play in any tie rods or the bell crank. Steering is precise and it tracks down the road straight. Tires are older all-terrain style and hold air without leaking. that Goodyear spare is probably the original from '46! All 5 wheels appear original. these were red from the factory with pinstripes. There is no longer a rear seat. top. or top bows with this Jeep. The frame and axles were cleaned up and repainted. There are no frame holes or damage. the original frame paint was poor quality and the surface rust has been removed and corrected. The underside of the Jeep looks great. The springs are replacement springs. installed by the previous owner. There may be some oil leaks underneath. this is good. it keeps them from rusting. All Jeeps will mark their territory in your garage! The body on the Jeep is straight as can be. there are only a few small areas of rust (not uncommon) on the floor boards. The small patch on the passenger side is covering some tiny pin holes. The driver's side has a larger rust hole under it's patch. but it is nothing that detracts from the appearance or function of the vehicle. You can't expect a metal body with wood supports to be perfect after 69 years. The outer body has no rust areas and the fenders. tailgate. hood. windshield frame etc. are all nice. This is still the nicest 2A body I have ever found. We replaced the wiring harness with a correct reproduction harness from Walck's 4wd. and all electrical functions operate as they should. All lights and switches are working. The dash light switch is in place under the left side. The ignition switch is still a "keyed coil" and it functions as it should. The exhaust system is a correct reproduction and is brand new. The 6V battery holds it's charge. the Jeep starts up easily and idles well. The original horn was missing when I got the Jeep. I have since found the "trumpet" part of the horn. but not an original body. The missing top bow holder is with the Jeep. not currently attached. I have driven this Jeep on nice days and can tell you it is a blast to drive. Please stop in and take it out for a drive. you will be amazed at how well it operates and how easy it is to drive. You can't go fast. but you certainly can attract a lot of positve attention while driving one of these! The Jeep will be sold as-is. but I am confident in it's mechanical condition and I think you will enjoy it. Serial # is: CJ2A67790. all ACM #'s are matching. I have included a lot of pictures. but there will certainly be questions and inquiries about this old Jeep. Please do not hesitate to call me on my mobile phone @ (717)393-5337. Don't be too shy to call. I meet lots of cool people when I post an old Jeep up for sale. I had a CJ-3B posted once around 3-4 years ago. and a guy called me about it and happened to mention the original Normandy Blue '46 2A he had.
