Up for sale today is a 1977 AMC Hornet which I have owned since 1995. I am the second owner of this not-so-common car, nd have always kept it in the garage. It has 63,500 original miles and numerous maintenance performed over the years. However, s you can see by the mileage, have not driven the car much in the past 20 years. As a result, here are some needs that must be attended to for road worthiness. Chief among them is a vacuum pressure issue to the distributor. The car sputters when the accelerator is applied. The otheritems that should be addressed are: replacement of backup light switch on the transmission, il-pan gasket, C rebuild, nd the driver's window seal replaced. Within the past 12 months the following work has been performed:
1. Valve cover gasket replaced, alve cover repainted
2. Carburetor rebuilt
3. Spark plugs and wires replaced
4. Distributor cap and rotor replaced
5. Water pump and thermostat replaced
6. Fuel filter replaced
7. Transmission pan gasketand filter replaced
8. Heater Hose valve replaced
If there is any blemish on this car, t is the minor fender bender that occurred back in 1996. The rear passenger panel was hit, ence the different paint tone. Replacement wheel-well molding is in the trunk.
California cars from 1977 still require aevery-other-year Smog test. This car was tested in May 2015 and passed, s always, ith flying colors. This car is like a family member for me, ndit is my hope it will go to a good home. If you have any questions, lease feel free to contact me.
Thank you for your interest.
