1975 BMW 2002. Expensive and high-quality build finished to a very nice standard inside and out; excellent paint / body, fresh interior, nice trim and glass. There is no rust on this car and all gaskets are like new. Beautiful BMW Orient Blue Metallic over tan Recaro sport seats and blue carpet w/ soundproofing underlayment, Rota wheels wrapped in 205/50R15 Dunlop Direzza’s w/ matching spare, custom front air dam, Euro signals and body colored Euro rear bumper.
Thousands invested in upgrades to make this car into a turnkey canyon carver. Compare this build with the “Clarion” 2002 build and you won’t find a lot of difference. All work was done about 7,000 miles ago. Fully built engine with Crane electronic ignition, 10:1 forged pistons, reworked head w/ heavy duty rockers/ springs, 292 Schrick cam, big tube headers, Ireland Engineering stainless exhaust, all breathing through a side-draft Weber DCOE carb on a Lynx manifold. Ireland Engineering coils, Bilstein sport shocks and struts, strut brace, big sway bars, urethane bushings including body mounts and motor mounts. All suspension is like new but with much better handling. Big brake upgrade with Tilton master cylinder setup, big front disc and 320i rear drums, and functional brake ducts hauls this '02 down with authority but does require heavy pedal effort. A refurbished five speed Getrag transmission with 90k, aluminum flywheel, 228mm clutch upgrade, and a 3.90 LSD completes this stout drivetrain.
Nicely detailed engine compartment and underside, hydraulic struts for the hood and trunk are functional and lend a clean look to the build. Custom gauge cluster with VDO gauges and console are a tidy install and keep the vitals in check. The sound system is Sony head unit with four speakers. No expense was spared and no details were overlooked during this build. This is a serious street / track, tastefully modded 2002 with the guts to back up its good looks.
