I purchased this 1987 Bmw 325i convertibleE30 car a few years ago from the family of theoriginal owner who passed away in 1995. This was the original owners baby...so the family had a hard time parting with the car until I purchased it.Since it hadn't ran and sat still since 1995, he family finally decided that since no one wanted to revive this timeless classic, hey put it up for sale and I bought it. I know for a fact its original mileage because here in New York they actually print the mileage of the car on the yearly inspection sticker and says 1995 for the year of inspection as well. At the last inspection it had 16,428 miles as you can see from the pictures. When I got the car, t had 16,442, o clearly, t was driven straight home after it got inspected in 1995and sat since. Not to mention that the title I got from them was the old brown title that was issued in 1989, robably after the car was paid off, nd at that time it says it had only 3,968 miles after two years...
When I got the car, t was a beautiful 15 footer ( beautiful from 15ft away ) and she wasinrough shape. Needed new top, ince it ripped, ngine to be looked at, nd all needed new interior...Bodyhad no rust,no dings, verall perfect, ther than faded paint, nd mouldings were shot. It had those ugly metal bumpers but were solid.
First thing I did was get it to the mechanic who stripped this beast from top to bottom, omplete engine and trannytune up, ith all new seals, oses, elts, luids, uel pumps, ilters,etc...not to mention all new calipers, iscs and pads and cat back exhaust. So she now purrs and runs like new! also changed Convertible top with German Canvas, ith the thick plastic window.
Second, he went to my friends Autobody shop, or paint and body work. At this time I purchased a 1989 BMW325is donor car that had the euro headlights and bumpers, o swap on to my 1987 convertible. also I found the a original hardtop for the car as well. I had them strip the entire car down to bare metal and repaint everything the right way, o short cuts... They pulled the car apart, nd repainted everything piece by piece. While this was going on, had purchased a whole new interior carpet and had all seats upholstered in Premium Vinyl that looks and feel like leather. I did this purposely because I figured this would last longer than the leather would over time. Once all this was done, hey reassembled the car and I had the upholstery shop redo the headliner of the hard top with black suede. Not to mention all M-Tech upgrades...(steering wheel, nd Dash).
Finally I sent the car out for a whole new stereo system, ith remote start alarm, hich now plays awesome...Pioneer all the way around, also had bought a set of 15X8 STR rims but I originally had low profile tires on it, ut I didn't like the look, o I had put full size tires on it instead.
I have all original parts for the car including bottle cap rims and tires and original owners manuel, tc...
