The 1970 Buick GSX was one of the most distinctive muscle car of the era. For its introduction year of 1970, the GSX came on strong with loud visual effect paint scheme and was only available in two colors, Saturn yellow or Apollo white. Total production was a mere 678 units of witch 491 came in yellow (this one being one of 199 built with the standard 455 and automatic). Rated at 510 foot pounds of torque in either ''standard 455'' or Stage 1 form, the GS/GSX was the highest torque rated muscle car of the ''Supercar'' era.
This stunning example is one of approximately 20 GSX built for the Canadian market and has undergone an extensive; no expenses spared rotisserie/frame-off ''factory correct'' restoration on a rust free body. All factory markings and tags were reproduced as it rolled off the assembly line. This certified award winner has won numerous trophies including best of show multiple times and was featured in numerous magazines, TV Shows and calendars. This is a non Stage1 car, the numbers matching, stock looking 455 was rebuilt to Stage 1 internal specs by renowned engine builder ''D&D Performance''. All external engine components are numbers matching to the car. Fully rebuilt factory original TH400 turbo automatic transmission and 342:1 posi rear. The entire exhaust consists of a factory correct Gardner reproduction system. Other factory options include power windows, power disc brakes, power steering, speed alert, rear defrost and tilt steering. The factory AM radio was dealer replaced with and AM/FM unit. This is a documented GSX and comes with the factory Canadian bill sheet. It is also listed in the ''GSX Historical Society and Registry''.
