Description

1986 Cadillac Fleetwood S&S Hearse. 4.1L FWD. This is the DFI engine -- Digital Fuel Injection. Runs pretty good, not great. It's certainly fun to drive. The car is located in Vienna, Virginia.
Outside is decorated with a hood scoop and dual flip-open, removable, sun roofs. Painted flat black. Has red graphics on the side. LED Lights all around the car including in the hood scoop, lighting up the graphics, and in the grill. Minimally, some of the LED colored lights are burned out. Has mounts for external speakers (included). There's a platform attached to the back to hold an external generator or battery pack to power a professional fog machine (which I own). The fog machine mounts in the passenger compartment and billows fog out and under the car.
The original inside has been gutted. There's now a rear bench seat in the far back and two rear-facing leather bucket seats in the middle. There's spooky lights inside. There's a stereo with 300w amplifier with speakers inside and external speakers as well. The music can be played outside for others to dance to it while you're driving. The driver's compartment has the original cloth seat (definitely faded). It has controls for the outside lights.
The flip-up sun roofs are removable for parades. When the kids were younger, they and eight of their closest friends would ride in the car, standing up through the sun roofs, waving at the crowds while their proud dad drove down the middle of the parade route.
I've owned the car for about five years and have thoroughly enjoyed riding my kids around in it. Click on this link to see the car in the 2015 Vienna parade .
Mechanically: Since I've owned it, I've replaced (at least) the following: battery, front sway bar, gas tank, fuel pump, shocks, and exhaust. The steel fuel lines were replaced with rubber brake lines starting a couple of feet from the engine to a couple of feet from the fuel tank. I'm sure I've made more repairs, I just can't remember). Has air shocks in the back. The 4.1 FWD engine gets about 20MPG (no kidding!). The electric doors and windows all work (although the windows are really slow). It rides pretty good for a 1986, but to be clear -- it's a 1986, not a 2016 or even a 2006. It DOES pass the rigorous Virginia state safety inspection. The car (always) needs some work.
The back door was severely rusted when I bought the car. I've (mostly) stopped the rust, but the back door is in pretty bad shape. I've kept the door the way it is and I'm not unhappy -- doesn't hurt the car (maybe even adds to it). Ironically, I found a door from a twin to this car -- it was in a junkyard in Winchester, Virginia -- I don't know if it's still there.
