A very nice example of a survivor, r the trending phrase "Barn Find" acquired from an estate sale last year, fter a long storage since approx 1985. It has been on the road since October 2014 again, nd has been driven both locally and 2 long distance trips: from southern Nj to New hampshire [approx 7 hrs each way- before the snow sarted last winter] and again this past spring to northern NJ [2hrs each way]. The following was done post-storage: New GM front Calipers, rake hoses, nd pads, ear wheel cylinders, aster cylinder, ear brake hose- since there is no sense in gambling with old brake components!!! New full true dual exhaust done in mild steel with stock type mufflers- an improvement over stock single exhaust, EW: alternator, oltage regulator, ater pump, ertronix point replacement electronic ignition, nd Edelbrock electric choke car to replace the original Q-jet which appeared to have a stripped fuel filter housing/inlet fitting. 4 new radial tires with very low mileage [approx 1500 miles of driving since storage]. obviousy the oil and filter were changed, he trans was treated to a new filter/gasket/and fluid, ear was also drained and fluid replaced including Posi additive as it has a 2.78 Posi rear. The original seats, ash, nd door panels are very, ery nice. New carpet was installed by a local detail/resto shop with embroidered Caddy floor mats. the original headliner is nice but has a failing seam towards the rear on 1 bow. No cracks in the dash nor door panels. The AM/FM/power antenna radio even works! AC and cruise don not work at the moment. all power windows work great. original trunk mat and 1 floor mat are still with the car. All lights work, hould pass local inspection if your state doesn't offer historic tags. More photos available by text message, se the "ask a question" feature to send me a number to send photos to.
The Body is absolutely rust free, he floors, nnser rockers, uter rockers, runk, runk dropoffs, tc are all orginal sheetmetal, ee undercarriage photo. This appears to have been a fair weather car, nd was garage stored most of its life, ccording to son of the original owner, nd evident by the reality of what you see! paint has hazing/lacquer checking up close, ome problem spots, ut a solid 10 footer! the car is nice enough to deserve a nice base/clear repaint! White vinyl top is very nice. The rear window was removed, inyl folded back, poxied, nd reset with new butyl tape, he original seal had dried and drops of water would come in when you washed the car, o that was addressed before any rust could occur in the trunk or under the back seat.
