click above arrow for video of this 1946 1/2 ton survivor running and driving! (if doesnt work try watching on non mobie device.)
This original survivor 1/2 ton Chevy pickup truck was found in storage about 3 years ago at which time the previous owner planned on rat rodding it as the body was so rust free and solid. He never got around to it so I bought it. I am a believer of "IT'S ONLY ORIGINAL ONCE!", o I decided to get it running and keep the amazing petina of the truck.
I did a complete tune up to the original engine, ebuilt the carb, nstalled a new master brake cylinder and lines and wheel cylinders to the rear, ypassed the original wire harness so it would be a 12 volt and hardwired the headlights to the switches etc. I had a new exhaust straight pipe on. Tires are older but servicable and hold air. The truck stops like it should and it shifts all gears like it should. The clutch is good. This truck goes down the road at 50 mph the way it should and is a blast to drive! The 216 engine runs great and smooth with no knocks misses or smoke. To make this truck into a daily driver, would clean the gas tank out (its running off a aux tank) I would finish the front brakes with lines and wheel cylinders and put new tires on.
The body on this truck is basically rust free and extremely clean for the age(see pics and hd video) the front fenders have some minor and typical dents as pictured. the rear fenders were in rought shape so I replaced them with new fiberglass fenders. The grill has great petina but does have some defects, pictured) the glass is all there but there were some minor cracks(pictured, asy fix flat glass) The windshield has some rust on the windshield frame, sable as is but you can replace it. the seat has a cover over the original springs and should be reupholstered. It has a seat cover on it now and is usable the way it is. The floor is rust free and solid and the cab corners look great and the running boards have diamond plate welded over any flaws that were there, looks great. The wood in the bed was rotted so we had a sheet of plywood put in.
This truck would look great if it were left the way it is and shot in clear coat or you could take it to the next level and paint it any color you like. This comes with a numbers matching clean title ready for you to register. The vintage map in the map holder, ice, ash magnets, lates and toppers do not go with the sale of this truck as they are part of my personal collection. the windows go up and down the way they should and the doors open and shut the way they should. I do not want to overcall it or undercall it as it is a survivor original truck that can be used the way it is and have fun with it or take to the next level with a full restoration. Let the pics, ideo, nd description tell the story. I recommend that you hire ebay to do a independant inspection for you or come and check out the truck yourself by appointment. You will be very happy with what this truck is. I require a 500 non refunable deposit within 24 hours of auction end. If I do not receive the deposit within the time frame or before you come for the truck, will assume you are a dreamer or a scammer and not serious about buying it. I can help recommend shippers I have used in the past who have been very reasonable.
