Description

1970 Chevelle SS454 LS-5

#’s matching block!!!!

This is the second time I’ve listed this car. You may have seen it about 6 months ago as well. I bought it from a guy in Florida, and when I got it, I immediately saw that it is more project than what I’m looking for at this time. I want to be clear- this car is rusty.

This auction is for a 1970 Chevelle SS454 LS-5 (70 Chevrolet Chevy Malibu Super Sport SuperSport SS SS454 454 LS5 LS-5) 2 door coupe. It is a total project car. But, it is a super rare SS LS5 360 hp 454 cubic inch #'s matching block.

This is 1 of around 4,500 made with the LS-5 360-hp 454 cubic inch motor. It comes with its original numbers matching 454 block. The numbers stamped on the block match the VIN, and the CRT suffix denotes the 360 horse 454. I do not know the condition of the block, but I was told it is standard bore and rebuildable. It comes with what I was told is the original crank and heads. No other engine parts come with the car. I have a clear title in a previous owner's name.

It also originally was a four-speed Muncie rockcrusher equipped car, but the original transmission is long gone.

Cowl tag shows original paint code 45- Green Mist. This is a Lakewood, GA built car as denoted by the ‘A’ on the cowl tag and as listed on the build sheet.

I was told this project has been in storage for just over 20 years. Needs everything, original #'s matching engine is out of the car and apart. This is the genuine article and the build sheet is still attached to the inside of the door panel. The car started out life as a bench seat four speed with M22 rockcrusher transmission that has been lost over the years.

The seats are all missing and the dash is all original and uncut. The instruments all look good and unmolested. The car has the original F41 suspension, power steering, power disc brakes, 12 bolt 3:31 positraction rear end, SS rims.

Needs lots of metal work- needs new floors and a new trunk pan. Has lots of rust around the rear window and rust in the trunk weatherstipping area. There’s a layer of bondo in the driver’s upper quarter area where it meets the roof.

Driver’s quarter has dents/damage. Both fenders have rust in the typical places. Both doors has small amounts of rust at the bottom. Passenger quarter has rust in the typical place. There’s a rust hole above the rocker panel at the lower door jamb area. I cannot open the passenger door.

Has a Super Sport hood (no cowl induction) that has small rust holes on it.

Frame has rust in the front passenger horn area but looks like it could be repaired. Rest of the frame looks pretty good.

Firewall is excellent, but I saw a couple small rust holes on top of the cowl.

No rear window, and the front window is cracked. Has rust in the front windshield area.

No interior other than what you see in the pictures.

This would be an awesome car restored as these 70 SS454 cars are very difficult to find with their original motors.

The auction can end at anytime and for any reason without notice. The car is to be paid for in full within 14 days of auctions end with no exceptions. The buyer is responsible for shipping. My zip code is 95688 for shipping quote purposes.

I reserve the right to end the auction at anytime and for any reason without notice. The car is 46 years old and sold as is. If you know these cars then you know it’s very uncommon to find these SS454’s with their original motors. Don’t miss out on this car.....Thanks for looking!

Might be interested in a partial Chevy trade. I need at least $10k cash though.

Would also consider a payment plan with the right terms. Feel free to inquire and negotiate a deal.

I have many more pictures and can take pix of specific areas if requested.

Car must be picked up within 4 weeks but can store the car outside for an agreed upon time prior to pickup.

IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT THE CAR, PLEASE GIVE ME A CALL AT 707 624 6740 AND I WILL BE GLAD TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS.
