Description

1950 Chevrolet 3100 Pickup. Truck was bought from original owner. Clear Texas title (in my name) in-hand. Fresh motor and automatic transmission. Motor and transmission are out of a 1987 C-10 Pickup. 305 motor was professionally rebuilt, bored 30 over, mild cam, and rebuilt heads. Also a freshly rebuilt Turbo 350 transmission with shift kit. On top of the motor is a 650cfm Holley Carb and nicely polished Chevrolet Bowtie Valve Covers. Top has been chopped 5 inches. Tilt steering (Oldsmobile). Brand new glass (which also had to be custom cut) the whole way around. 12v electric harness conversion, new radiator and electric fan. The front clip of the truck is from a 1978 Mustang II and rear-end from a 1986 Iroc-Z which gives the truck the lowered stance and advantages of front disc brakes and power steering. New front grill ($750), bumper ($180), dash gauges ($650), etc. H2 Hummer front bucket seats. Truck is 90% complete and while it's been driven on the road several times over short distances, it needs fine tuning before it could be a daily driver. In addition to the small stuff such as mirrors, interior door panels, headliner, etc. it's literally a newly built truck and will need the steering aligned, transmission kick down cable installed, transmission cooling lines installed (I have new ones that come with it), dash components installed (ash tray, glove box, etc. - I have the originals, but you may want to get new ones), the bed of the truck could use some attention. While the wood is nearly new, it wasn't properly installed and is bowing. I took some specific pictures of the wood bed so please have a look. I washed the truck right before the pictures, so please note that while the wood appears finished, it's only been stained (as it's wet in the pictures).
It's literally taken us seven years to finally get the truck to the point it is today and while we'd like to finish it off, we simply have too many other priorities. The truck really needs someone to spend the time to properly finely tune it to their liking. The hard part is done. As things sit now, the truck paint is nearly new, but does have several runs in it. I'd say it's at a 6 out of 10. I was told by the gentlemen that was painting it that it needed a wet sand to knock off the runs. There's also some places on the body (around the cab and on the hood - again, pictured) where there's some cracks in the paint (yes - skim coat filler is under it). There's also a spot on the firewall (pictured) where there was a carb backfire and scorched the paint. I was going to respray with OEM spray paint (can comes with the truck), but didn't want to try 'hiding anything'. There's also a scratch on the drivers side running board (which happened when the truck was being untrailered and scrapped the wheel well of the trailer) which isn't shown. Though rough in spots, our plan was to patina the entire truck which would build off its current character and really pull the entire truck together (not to mention add value). The truck has been in three photo shoots, the first of which is in a published pinup magazine (a copy comes with the sale). Truck does start and run, but is currently cutting out on idle. Again, fine tuning. With the sale of the truck comes clear title, bill of sale, a load of pictures from the frame up restomod (I'll put them on a USB for you), electronic and printed copy of magazine publication, all receipts I can locate, and nearly everything needed to complete the project (new windshield wipers, door handles, etc.). Rare opportunity to truly build what it is you're after. While we have lots of money into the truck, we're opening it up to the Highest Bidder. With a good patina and finish off, the truck will make a great daily driver. Lots of opportunity, just don't have the time and other priorities are pressing. Please reach out with any questions.
