Description

We're convinced that the 1969 Camaro is the world's favorite muscle car. Machines like this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 tribute with a full mechanical makeover remain popular year after year, and when they're this well built, we know they just won't last long. And this one gets everything right, from a sweet-running LS1 to a competent suspension to the fantastic Z/28 look, there's just no reason not to take it home. The sleek two-tone paint is just about as good as it gets. There are thousands of hours tied up in the build and it shows in every single aspect of the car. It keeps everything that makes the '69 Camaro the best-looking F-body ever built and builds on it by adding just the right amount of modern tech. Some of that modern tech comes in the form of two-stage urethane paint, which gives this incredible car a depth and shine that few others can match. Custom airbrush work separates the two colors and the final wet sand and buff that it received ensures that it's practically seamless. There are a few very, very minor signs of use but this high-impact car needs no excuses, because the guys at House of Hot Rods went the extra mile. The chrome and trim is either new or freshly restored and the satin black grille looks like it means business. Add in the cowl-induction hood and the slick stance and you get a car that's everything that's awesome about the Z/28 and then some. The black interior is like the exterior, offering factory goodness where it matters and smart upgrades where they count. The biggest change are those supportive custom leather bucket seats, and after you see the hardware underneath this Camaro, you'll understand why they're necessary. That cool billet steering wheel is a highlight for the driver to enjoy and the original gauges are replaced by Auto Meter dials that monitor all the critical functions. The original center console doesn't quite look stock, offering matching two-tone stitching and a cool variation on the horseshoe shifter, and it works with the overall theme of the car. Fresh carpets and door panels were installed at the same time, while the rear bench is in excellent shape and completely unused. This is a factory air-conditioned car and it includes an AM/FM/CD/iPod stereo stashed out of sight so the dash is clean and uncluttered. The trunk, like the rest of the interior, is lined with Dynamat to control noise and heat and it's been filled with a trick subwoofer enclosure that doesn't hog all the room. The engine is a Corvette-based 5.7 liter LS1, and it offers OEM drivability, featherweight aluminum construction, and big block levels of performance. Clearly someone knew what they were doing when this engine bay went together, because it's all very OEM looking, from the Corvette coil covers to the accessory drive that ads the A/C compressor up high. It cackles and snarls like a proper Z/28 thanks to custom ceramic-coated long-tube headers and a pair of Magnaflow mufflers out back. LS1 engines are famous for their willingness to rev and bottomless torque reserves, and this one definitely doesn't disappoint, particularly when linked to the slick-shifting 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission. Out back, the 10-bolt is built for combat and the suspension is upgraded with traction bars, lowering springs, and those gorgeous 17-inch wheels wearing 245/45/17 front and 275/40/17 rear Toyo rubber. This is resto-mod done right, where there's plenty of horsepower but other smart upgrades to support it. A great-looking Camaro that runs like a modern car, what could be better? Call today!
