Description

This solid southern Impala Wagon runs and drives excellent! 119k miles on the body. Rebuilt 283! Rare FACTORY Air Conditioning (not a dealer add-on)

Fly in and drive it home. Reliable attention-getting cruiser! This is one of the best running reliable cars I’ve ever owned. It has a smooth running 283 engine paired with a Powerglide Transmission. The carburetor has been restored along with a new alternator and wiring harness. The climate controls work as they should. The radial tires are in excellent shape.

I acquired this southern gem from Silverhill which is a small town in Alabama; the previous owners purchased the car from the original owner in Atlanta Georgia. The original Atlanta dealer emblem is still on the rear tailgate. The wagon’s original paint has been aged to a sweet looking patina. Yes there are small areas of rust in the lower fenders but it is not rotted through the inner skin. The hood lip looks like it’s been repaired too. The rear floor is original and solid and the front floors have been replaced with correct Chevrolet floor plans. This is not a rot bucket. All the trim is there. The original glass is in immaculate condition.

The original rear window lowers down with the chrome crank.

The wagon has a bamboo headliner and the rear seat is in nice original shape. It folds down for some extra cargo or sleeping space. The front seat could be re-upholstered but I liked it the way it is so I never changed it. The dash has been fried by the southern sun. The wagon has new correct carpet as well. The car’s suspension has been lowered slightly.

The wagon has been completely gone through to make it road worthy – Restored gas tank (gas tank for wagons are not reproduced); new exhaust (stock style not super loud but has a cool rumble); new brakes master cylinder fuel pump etc. The T3 headlights taillights dome-lights reverse lights dash and clock lights all work as they should. The turn signal cancelling mechanism even works! I added a CD player (and did not butcher the dash) but the original radio still works.
