I have owned this car for about 3 years and havent done very much with it, o its time for it to go to somebody who will restore it and enjoy it!
In the last 3 years, have only put about 50-100 miles on it. When I bought it, t had been sitting for quite a few years already. I replace the distributor, ut on a different Edelbrock carb, hanged plugs and wires, fuel pump, nd I bought a kit on Ebay and upgraded the front brakes from drums to discs.
The front fenders werent in the best condition,
This car is NOT a show car, ut it is, n my opinion, VERY GOOD starting point for a restoration. The frame is SOLID and the doors slam nice and tight. Inside the trunk there is some surface rust and in a few small spots there are holes. But it is not nearly as bad as some I have seen with trunks rusted all the way out. I cleaned out the trunk and took a lot of pics inside the trunk area so you can see. It could probably be fixed with a few small pieces of sheet metal.
Suspension: I have only driven this car about 15-20 times in the last 3 year and when I did, could tell it need shocks in the back pretty bad. And if you stood behind the car and pushed on the trunk you could get it to bounce around alot, owever, hen I was cleaning out the trunk, notice a little valve stem and discovered that somebody had put some air shocks on it. So I put some air in it, nd the rear suspension stiffened right up. 3 days later, t is still stiffened up so they must hold air pretty good.
Wheels: The wheels are 22 inch Foose Nitrous rims and the tires in the front will rub if you make a sharp turn. You could probably replace them with 20s in the front and have no problems. These big old cars have lots of room under there.
Engine: The emblems on the side of the car say 327, ut the guy I got the car from said he doesnt think it is a 327, e thinks it was replaced with a 350. I dont know how to tell what it is, ut if you tell me where to look and what to look for, can check for you. If this is important to you, ake sure you ask me BEFORE the auction ends. Anyway, he Engine will start and run, ut it has misfires. I bought a cheap timing light, nd tried to adjust the timing a little bit (first timer), nd I could tell when I would turn the distributor, could get rid of some of the misfires and some time I would get backfires, o I just timed it in the best I could. I also replaced the spark plug wires because whenever I would touch the engine, kept getting shocked! Lol. The engine probably needs a good overhaul or just replace it with a big new crate motor!
Transmission: The transmission shifts and works in reverse. I dont know much about transmissions so I dont know what kind it is or anything like that.
Body: The body needs work. The front fenders need patched or replaced. The passenger side front fender has a pretty big crease, ut the GOOD news is that I bought a used 68 Impala fender on Ebay about a year ago that is in better shape than the one on the car. These fenders arent cheap! The 68 fender is a 1 year fender. A 67 or a 69 wont work. It has to be from a 68 Impala, aprice, r a Biscayne, ven one from the wagon will work, ut it has to be a 68. The rear quarter panels have some rust around the wheel wells and probably on the bottoms a little bit. The doors are pretty solid. The hood and the trunk are pretty solid. There are some small dents, ust bubbles, ome scratches, nd some places where they paint has flaked off on this car. It will need to be prepped and re-painted if you want it to look like a show car.
Interior: The interior has been re-upholstered with some white and blue vinyl (I think its vinyl it has the fake-leathery feel) It might not show in the pics, ut it is pretty dirty and needs a really good cleaning. The carpet is dirty. I found the BRAND NEW replacement carpet on Ebay for $153.90 with free shipping. I think that would be a great purchase to instantly give it a newer cleaner feel inside. Item number 130591985138, r maybe you can find it cheaper.
Extra Front Passenger Fender included with the car, will take pictures later, t is in my shed.
I have tried to describe it all pretty well, ut rely on the pictures for the best description. If you want me to take more pictures of specific areas, et me know (in time) and I will try to take some for you. The car is located in Youngstown, hio. I have NO IDEA how to ship a car, ut if you need to use a shipping company, will be here all day everyday so making arrangements for me to meet them wont be a problem.
The Title is a Clear Title from the State of Ohio. The Mileage on the title says 129,501 and that the mileage "EXCEEDS MECHANICAL LIMTS" because the odometer can only measure up to 99,999 but the odometer on the car says 07,584 I have NO IDEA what the true mileage is. I have only put about 100 miles on it in the past 4 years so my best guess is that it went from (1)29,501 and past the 99,999 again and that it is now at (2)07,584. Eitherway, m probably gonna get a few last drives in it this week so the 07,584 is gonna go up a little bit.
I am selling this car with NO RESERVE so when the time runs out, ne of you lucky Ebayers is gonna own this baby! If you have a low feedback score, lease email me BEFORE you bid. I dont wanna play the re-listing game. I want this to be a one shot deal. If you dont have the money, LEASE dont bid. I will be requiring a $200 deposit through Paypal within 24 hours of the auction closing. This $200 is NON-REFUNDABLE if you decide to back out of the deal. The balance will be due within 15 days after the auction closes. You can pay that by cash, oney order, ashiers check, r some other non-scamming method.
