This very classic 210 1957 Chevy 4-door station wagon has been owned by us for some time. Originally I used it as an every-day car and drove it often. Then my husband used it as a Sunday car and eventually we stopped driving it when a starter wire connection became intermittent in 2002. It sat. Then it didn't start. I am selling it as is. As you can see from the photos it has rust but it has a tremendous amount of potential. I am not a car-cat person so I can't speak to the inner workings of the car. I am hoping the pictures speak to that and to its condition. I can only provide general information regarding the description, nd the authenticity of the car and its parts. I have no knowledge of specifications and what might be "factory". I will do my best to try to answer questions that you may have. There are things I don't know, ike whether is has a 2- barrel or 4- barrel carburetor.
This is what I do know about the car. I bought the car from a father and son who had been restoring it. They brought the car up from California when they moved north to Washington State. They painted it, nd put in new "old stock" upholstery. There are some interior trim parts from this project which are in the car but need putting in. The previous owners told me they put in a larger radiator for desert driving and they put in an "ah -oo-gah" horn. After purchasing it I had it looked over by a mechanic and there were no problems. It ran quite well for years. Mechanically everything worked fine except that the starter wire and one of the windshield wipers worked intermittently just before we stopped driving it. The tires contain air, ut are low. The hubcaps are not original. I opened the tailgate frequently when I used the car, ut now after sitting it does not open. I think the lock has seized and I don't want to force it. The key fits but doesn't turn far enough to release the lock. Same is the case for the locking gas cap. Maybe some lubrication might help matters. The glass is all original and intact, lthough the rear passenger side window has slipped down an inch or so. One of the doors does not click fully shut. There are no missing mechanical nor body parts that I know of. We still have the chrome strip on the right front fender which detached and the clips are still there. The car seems very original in nature with "everything there" (somebody said). It might make a nice project to restore it.
The 1.7 thick 1957 Chevrolet Passenger Car Shop Manuel published by Chev Division of General Motors in 1956 is in great condition and complete and is included with the car.
The vehicle sells "AS-IS-WHERE-IS" and will need to be loaded by winch onto a shipping trailer. Buyer is fully responsible for ALL loading, nd shipping arrangements, ethods and charges. Car is located in Western Washington State USA. Our driveway cannot accommodate a commercial semi-tractor trailer auto hauler. No problems for a pickup with trailer or a tow-truck style lift bed. Seller will sell to USA and Canadian buyers.
Buyer will have 72 hours to make a non-refundable "hold" deposit of four hundred US dollars ideally thru PayPal. The balance of the total winning bid amount must be paid within seven days after the auction is ended. Payment methods are PayPal, ank wire transfer, S cash and USPS money orders.
Please contact me by email through eBay regarding making cash payment or any other questions about the car or the transaction.
