1967 Chevrolet Chevelle
138 Super Sport
Kentucky Barn Find with
$6,000 in New Parts
I am offering here for sale on 5 day NO RESERVE auction my 1967 Chevy Chevelle SS 138 Code car and a large truck load of new parts. I had known of this car for over 15 years but could never buy it until last year. The man that had this car built and sold 66 and 67 Chevelles for 30 plus years and had stored this car in his barn, aving it back to build for his wife. This was the best of the best of cars he had bought and sold. He had also accumulated a large truck load of new parts and I will list everything that goes with the car. His wife passed away 2 years ago and as he was getting up in the years he decided to sell everything and I was first in line. I bought the car and all his parts last year with intentions of building a resto mod 67 using an LS1 and 4L60E drive train. To many projects and work schedule has changed my mind so everything is for sale here. I have taken a lot of pictures so you know exactly what you are bidding on. There are boxes of parts and emblems that I have not shown or not listed - everything goes.
First the good news: this car is unbelievable underneath. The frame, loors, nner and outer rockers, nner wheel wells, oor bottoms, omplete trunk pan and front fenders are basically rust free. Floors and trunk pan do not even have shotgun rust showing. I've been in the business of buying, elling, uilding and restoring cars for 40 years and have never seen another car that is as found and untouched show this good, ven with cars from the Southwest. If you are wanting to just build a driver this one could be restored with frame on restoration just cleaning up and painting underneath and go from there without having to pull the body. It would also be a candidate for a full frame off restoration with one of the best frames and bodies I have seen in 25 years. Now for the bad news - at some time in the past a previous owner let this car set outside with water trapping under a vinyl top and the top skin is totally ruined. The rear quarters should also be replaced due to some lower rust but the inner rear wheel wells are near perfect and the top skin will need to be replaced to make a first class, igh dollar car. This car does come with a pair of 67 bucket seats, ear seat and floor console and has door panels but all of the interior should be redone using the seat frames and console as they are super good. Please check out all the photos. There is no motor or tranny and the rear end has been changed at some time in the past to a 10 bolt. In the mountains of East Kentucky these old cars were hot rodded to death in their early lives and most of the big blocks were blow, rannys and rear ends didn't last long either. The car does not show any evidence of ever having been wrecked. It's it super straight. Disc brake set up has been installed on the front. The old man had gathered a lot of high dollar brand new 67 Chevelle parts to use in his business and I got them all along with a good factory air dash w/center vent and factory air box that mounts on firewall - he was going to put factory air on this car. Below is a list of all the new parts he bought from Ausley's Chevelle.
Everything goes with this car:
New SS hood - so you will have 2 good hoods
New trunk lid - so you will have 2 good ones
2 brand new doors - not skins but full doors
2 new front fenders
2 - full quarters left and right
2 - front inner fenders so you will have 2 sets
New floor pans full front to back - extras to sell
New trunk pans - extras to sell
Complete set of floor braces - to sell
New tail light panel - extra to sell
New radiator/core support - extra to sell
New cowl panel - extra to sell
New factory SS gauge set for dash
New bezels for radio and above the glove box - SS
New knee knocker factory tach
New speedo face and backing plate for floor shift car
New top dash bezel strip - long black piece
From what I can see the only parts needed for this car would be the full quarters and all dash stuff. There is over $6,000 spent in new parts on this list and you should have around $4,000 or better in new parts to re-sell or use on another 67 Chevelle project. These parts sell really well. Guys I hate to sell this car as I will never find another that is this good again - once in a lifetime barn find deal. And yes, drug this car out of his barn covered in dust and dirt.
I have a clear Kentucky 138 matching title in my name ready to transfer to you. The wheels on the car are not mine and don't come with the car - we will put a set of rollers on it so you can load on your trailer.
Payment: I require a $500 deposit within 24 hours of end of sale and payment in full within 7 days of sale. Please do not bid on my car unless you are prepared to meet these requirements. Also, lease do not bid if you have to get permission from your momma, ife, randma, ignificant other or anyone else after you already were high bidder and auction has ended - yes I have had this happen.
I can help arrange shipment up to 1000 miles for $1.00 a mile one way. I have a friend in the car shipping business. Of course this will have to be paid also before leaving here with your car and parts. Car is located in Middlesboro, entucky. About 70 miles North of Knoxville or about 120 miles South of Lexington, entucky
Please email me with any questions or call Matt at 606-269-8911 with questions. We tell it like it is so there will be no unpleasant surprises.
Matt and his dad run a motor and parts shop in Middlesboro and they have lots of great parts for these cars. Big block motors, uncie tranny's and 12 bolt posi rear ends. They would probably make you a deal on a date coded drive train if you want to go that way. Any dealing with them will be directly with them and have nothing to do with this auction or price. You are bidding on all that is pictured in the photos. Please ask questions if you have any before the end of auction and also, lease do not wait until 5 minutes before auction ends to ask questions - we have 5 days here do find out early. This is a great deal on a nice car and a ton of high dollar parts. Thanks for stopping by and good luck should you decide to bid.
