Description

Datsun 240z 53,000 Original Miles
I want to start with the backstory of this car. I bought the car a little over a year ago in hopes of doing a full restoration. I bought it from a lady that won the car in a divorce 25 years ago. The car was then parked about 20 years ago in a garage and had not moved until I came to pick it up. I brought it home and replaced the carbs with newly rebuilt and upgraded SU round top carbs, eplaced plugs, ires, ilters, fluids, tc. and I got the car running like a champ. This all happened last summer, ight around this time I got a new job and so the Datsun has sat since last summer in the garage. I was going to start focusing on the rust area's but I never got around to it. I also have about $600 in brand new brake parts for the car, ncluding new calipers, tainless steel lines, otors, awk racing pads, tc. that I will include with the sale. I also have two front fenders and an entire roof that I can include if the buyer wants them.
With a little work this car will run and drive, he gas tank is a little rusty so it will probably need to be drained again before firing up, ther than that once the new brake components are installed the car should be able to run, top, nd drive around town just fine. The only issue with the engine is a slow rear main seal leak which is to be expected from the car sitting for over 20 years. The biggest issue is addressing the rust. For the most part the car is relatively solid but the dog legs and floor pans will definitely need attention. If you are a body guy this could be the deal of the century, have several replacement panels that I will include for some of the problem areas. I had planned to completely strip the car down and have it sand blasted but plans have changed and the girlfriend just wants it out of here. You could sell the wheels and brake components for over $1,200 alone. I've invested too much into this car so my loss is your gain. I can help you find a shipping company.
