I bought this car new in Sept. 1970 in the San Francisco Bay Area. I was 20 years old at the time. My Father cosigned for the car so I could get it. He warned me about being able to afford the car. "Of course I can afford the Z", I said. "NO PROBLEM. I got this". Hell, I was 20 years old. The Z, without a doubt, was one of the coolest cars of the day. Had to have it. 4 months later my plan fell apart. I couldn't pay for it. My Father took the Z over. I'm pretty sure he knew that was going to happen and it was his sneaky way to get the car via the back door. I think he really wanted the Z to begin with but my Mom wouldn't hear it. So he cosigned my loan knowing I couldn't afford it. Sneaky. As it turned out, he gave the Z to my mom a few months later and she & she alone drove it for the next 20 years. Alas, the Z fell out of favor and was parked for the next 20 years. Unfortunately for the Z, it was not garaged. It was parked under a carport. It was exposed to the elements and things kinda went to hell as happens when cars are neglected.
5 years ago my Father gave the Z back.I worked on it and got it running and road worthy.
The good:* Z runs pretty good. Still has power and pulls great.*Original engine, tranny and running gear.*Rear drums turned. Front disc turned. New brakes all around.*New tires. (Because the slotted mags ((original to the car)) are corroded from age the beads do not seal to the tires. I put in inner tubes. The tubes work great but the rims should be machined to original or replaced.)*New aluminum radiator.*New clutch.*Carburetors rebuilt.*New water pump.*New Starter.*New Alternator.*Gas tank flushed. New tank vent line. New gas lines.*New muffler and pipes to the tip.*New Battery.* Speedo works but milage numbers do not turn.*Tach works.*Clock works some of the time.*Wipers work* Headlights and taillights work.*Original Steering Wheel*Has original tire jack.*All original interior.
The bad:*Paint is shot. The Z was repainted once but it's all bad.*Mileage numbers on speedo do not turn. Actual mileage is somewhat higher but not by much. *This Z has factory AIR. However it does not work. Probably needs another evaporator box.*Heater nor defroster work. *No radio. It's missing.*Cigarette lighter/ashtray cover is broken.*Manual choke lever handle is missing.*Turn signals do not work.*Top of dash has cracked.*Head gasket bad. Leaking oil. (The head has never been off the engine)*Driver side door is dented.*Driver side front fender behind tire is dented in.*Passenger side rear quarter panel at bottom in front of tire has a few spots of cancer.*Rear hatch support shock does not work. Piece of wood holds the hatch up. And for those who don't know - those hatches way a ton. You DO NOT want the hatch to drop onto you.
So that's pretty much the history of the car. It's been a California car all it's life except for the last 2 years when I moved to Texas. As much as I love the car, it's time to let it go. I'm downsizing and there's just no room anymore.
This auction is "No Reserve". Highest bid wins.
Note: Buyer is responsible for freight. There are plenty of car haulers to do the deed. I will work will the car hauler to make the transition as smooth as possible.

I've a couple of questions asked that I will answer:
1. Please add a picture of the Vin/Mfg Date which I just did. The Z was Manufactured in Oct. 1970. I claimed to have bought the car in Sept. of 1970. I was obviously wrong. Well, it was 45+ years ago so missed the date by a month or so.
2> Do the floors have any rust and/or holes? This morning I jacked up the Z on both sides and visually inspected the floors. They were clean and in very good condition. No rust No holes - they looked great.
