Description

True B-Body California barn find. This third generation Bright Blue ’72 Charger Hardtop was just acquired by Flat 12 Gallery after finding it in a barn in the Southern California horse town of Norco. Flat 12 Gallery has been featured on three seasons of CNBC’s “The Car Chasers” specializing in finding rare, unique and collectible cars with stories, at a reasonable price and offering them to the public. So many Mopars have left us due to rust and rot, and we are happy to offer this extremely nice example that has weathered the test of time.

This is a very nice 318 V8 2 bbl powered 1972 Dodge Charger finished in bright blue with blue interior and a white “halo” vinyl top. The car has been well cared for over the years and it shows!!!!! It appears to have its original interior that looks amazing with minimal signs of its age. Consider that this car is 44 years old and then look at its steering wheel, carpet, seats, door panels, etc. Even the woodgrain dash inserts look amazing! Still under the front seat is the factory"build sheet" just adding to how original this Charger is and that it must be seen in person to really appreciate its condition! This is a great driver the way she is, or she would be the ultimate platform for a Pro-touring street machine!

Dodge Chargers were designed with performance, muscle and the desire to attract a new crowd of buyers. With this Mopar we think it would be a cool car to either leave her nostalgic, as she is now and take her to events and cruises or, on the other hand, she would a great platform to build your extreme horsepower pro-touring ride or SEMA build without starting with a pile of problems. Don’t misunderstand me, she is fine just the way she is… but if you are a builder you will also appreciate her body as a starting point for a crazy build. We personally think she may be too nice and it is getting harder and harder to find true nostalgia.

We drove this car over 60 miles on the 91/ 55 freeways in California traffic and at speeds of 70 mph and she cruises down the road just fine. She is easy to drive, start right up and heads down the road and doesn't have any strange pulling. Very easy to drive, was built with A/C although currently not working.

She isn't a perfect car but she sure is a nice car. For example the rear bumper chrome is in good condition and the plastic taillight surrounds aren’t cracked. The mirrors are nice and the window trim is great without any dented areas. The front bumper is nice, as is the overall interior. The interior is very much a time warp with a rear package carpet added and dash pad added to help protect them. There is one 4” long tear on the top of the back seat where the package cover didn't quite cover enough and the dash did get cracks on top due to the heat but the wood grain dash area is amazing. The steering wheel doesn't have any cracks and there are only a couple areas where the color fadded. The vinyl top has pulled away at the rear trim and should be replaced. It is an extremely rust free car. We have photoed and looked around it and are very pleased with the bodies condition. If there is a specific area you would like checked or photographed please let us know. At some point the car was repainted and although is in fine condition it isn't a fresh just painted show car and does have a few chips like at the door edge....

If you have been looking for a Mopar or have owned Mopars in the past then you will immediately recognize from the photographs why we consider this Charger special. Again, feel free to email us any questions you may have. We have assisted in numerous sales all over the country and overseas.
