Description
Up for bid is a very very solid 1970 Dodge Charge R/T. It has a non numbers matching 440-hp but is a real U-code car. The trans and rear are matching to the car. It has been in dry storage for the past 10 years. It runs and drives but I do not feel that it is "road worthy." The motor fires right up and runs great. Motor runs as if it has a mild cam and hedders. I replaced the fuel tank sender and pump with brand new units. Doesn't leak oil or smoke. Power steering belt is missing and pump is dry. The trans is an HD 727 that shifts fine but has a very small leak coming from the pan gasket. Someone installed and external fluid cooler as well. The rear end is an 8 and 3/4 posi with what appears to be about a 3.23 ratio. It doesn't leak or make noise. It has factory disc brakes that need servicing as well as a bearing re-pack. The rear drums are ok but should beservicedtoo. The car is very complete only appears to be missing the console. The factoryshifteris in tact and works ok missing top button. The speedometer fuel and ampgaugeare all that are working at this time. Turn signals work hideaway headlights open and close very well better when the car has been running for a few minutes. The glass is in great shape very minorscratcheson the drivers and passengers side glass only windows roll up and down fine. All window trim and moldings are in very goodusableand very restorable condition. The lower portion behind the back glass is the only significant rust on the whole car. It is repairable but would seem easier to take a section from a replacement panel. The trunk has some pretty good surface rust in a patch area and some very small pin holes in the flat area but noting that would warrant a pan replacement. The underside of the car is as good or better than any I have seen in years. There is NO rust beyond slight surface stuff that could be easily handled by a scotchbrite pad. There are NO holes or any panel deflection of any kind. The boxes are perfect the leaf spring and frame rails are perfect the trunk dropoffs and floorpans are also perfect. I have more pics of the upper wheel wells and k-member too. There is no dash rust or front window channel rust visible and no scale. The interior is very complete needs restoration but is all there except for the console. The lights and turn signals work the horn is hit and miss. The back up lights also work. Overall this car is very solid and does not need any major panel replacement except for the lower back window but even that could be sectioned. The car originally is Plum Crazy Purple as you can see from the pics where the white is not covering or has chipped off. The car is very straight with a little mud in the quarters but not bad. The tops of the fenders have some elbow doinks but not packed with mud. The area behind the front tire down at the bottom is the most solid I have ever seen on a non restored mopar. You could have this car on the road in a weekend or two and restore as you drive it. The front wheels in the pics are not included I will put on something similar to what is on the rear. Again this car runs and drives but has not been further than down my street and back. The drivers seat tracks are stuck. This car is very restorable and has some nice options that would make it very worthwhile. The fender tag is missing but there is a company online that will make you a new one with pics of the options and the VIN. If you need this car painted I can help out with that too. I can also go through themechanicals and make it road worthyas well. Please ask any and all questions before you bid or buy this car. Be realistic do not ask if you can fly in and drive it home it has been sitting for years. Ask your wife and all her friends if its ok for you to buy first and have the funds before hand. Car is located in Carson City. Nevada so come by and have a look as the car is for sale locally and I do reserve the right to end my auction early so don't e-mail me mad because your sand bagging thing didn't work out and now its somehow my fault. If you want the car e-mail me your number and I WILL call you back. No lowballers or trades of anykind. I will help you as much as I can with shipping logistics not with shipping costs. I take many forms of payment but all funds must clear before car goes. Deposit or paid in full before title is sent no exceptions. No trades. Thanks for looking.
