1968 330GTCS/N: 10923 57,299 KM or 35,600 miles, believed to be original. First time offered for public sale in 32 years! Best priced GTC's based on the quality and condition on the market.
300 bhp, 3,967 cc SOHC V-12 engine with three Weber 40 DCZ6 carburetors, five-speed manual transmission, front and rear independent suspension via wishbones, coil springs, and telescopic shock absorbers, and four-wheel hydraulic disc brakes. Wheelbase: 94.5 in.
A matching-numbers example outfitted with optional factory air conditioning that actually works very well for a car of this vintage. Black over Black. Red carpets. 330 GTC’s with their amazing driving dynamics often is considered one of the finest Ferrari grand tourers. It’s a car that can easily be driven daily! Introduced at the 1966 Geneva Motor ShowThe 330 GTC merged a number of desirable aspects from other Ferraris of the time and was molded into a very well-rounded and balanced automobile. It utilized the same suspension, steering, and transmission as the 275 GTB and the 4.0-liter V-12 from the 330 GT 2+2. It’s every bit as exciting to drive as the 275. The 330 GTC was able to fit additional luggage in the cabin thanks to a rear parcel shelf. And as a result of no longer needing to accommodate passengers in the rear, the car’s wheelbase was reduced by 10 inches, greatly improving its handling dynamics. Often it’s called the SWB of the 330 line.
Here is what I know on this car: I bought about 4 years ago from a local Chicago doctor that owned the car since the early 80's but didn't use the car very much. No one knew about this car for decades at the time I started to research the car with a few historians and the Ferrari Market Letter people. It was MIA basically for all these years. It's a survivor in terms of originality and would make a great preservation candidate in a concourse. When I bought the car I was looking for a reasonably priced 330 GTC that I could drive and work on the cosmetics later if I chose too. The previous owner completely rebuild the engine utilizing all new internals and gearbox some time ago but only put about 300 miles on the car since the full rebuild. Therefore the car runs extremely well. Starts on the first try. Great syncros in all the gears, with no smoke at start nor when you’re driving. It makes great power and sound. The frame is in excellent condition. No sign of any accidents. Number matching power train. These factors were very important to me when I initially looked at this car. The only thing I had done was the breaks. The interior is all original with a good amount of patina. Original partial tool kit in an original tool roll. Lot’s of receipts and pictures of the drive train rebuilt as it was carried out. The worst part is the body/paint. The paint is faded. There is cracking in the paint where the right fender and door come together. Some bubbles in the aluminum hood and front of the car. A small rust spot on the right quarter behind the rear wheel. Please refer to the pictures. The chrome, glass and the Boranis are in good shape. Overall I say it's a 3- condition. It can be easily enjoyed as-is. I been driving the car and absolutely love it! It's a real honest original car. The new owner may decide to do a re-spray ($25-35k) or keep as-is. Original cars are becoming impossible to find with it’s all original power train and interior. In the last few years original cars tend to be valued higher than a car that has been restored and regularly bring higher results at auction. A car is original only once! Also keep in mind this car has never been advertised for sale to the public in over three decades! Priced in line with today's market.
The car is being offered as-is with absolutely no warranty of any kind related to it’s physical state and all other aspects as to it’s provenance. Please do proper due diligence prior to buying the car.Payments: A deposit of $1000.00 by PayPal or a bank wire (non-refundable) must be paid within 12 hours of the close of the Auction. The remaining balance must be paid within 3 days via bank wire only.
