Description

Up for auction is a very clean, ne owner, 9.99% rust free 1979 Ford F-250 4x4. Sold new inNorthern California this truck is extremely original from the paint to the factory AM/FM/CB radio with the only modifications being the era correct pin stripping (done in 1980) wheels, alve covers, anifold and headers. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find one of these trucks that has not been beat or rusted into submission or over-restored. This 1979 is just that truck! One owner, riginal paint, ever abused, xtremely nice driver with the typical blemishes you would expect from 26 years of gentle use.

The interior on this 1979 Ford is very nice! Carpet is great, eat is very nice (with one very minor seam split on the driver’s side – approximately 1” long), ear perfect headliner, oor panels and dash. The actual dash pad does have the typical linear cracks (5) but is still very presentable and not absolutely destroyed (a dash mat would be an easy fix if the cracks were a bother). Everything works on the truck from the AM/FM Radio to the factory CB! A/C does engage and disengage but does not blow cold indicating a charge is needed.

As noted, he paint is original with a great shine but is showing its age. The finish is nice enough to catch everyone’s attention with enough of the character that comes from 26 years of service to make it that much cooler! And you can rest assured there is no rust or bondo hiding under a quickie paint job. What you see is what you get – no hidden surprises! The era correct pin-striping is priceless! The truck does have one small dent in the lower front corner of the driver’s fender and the front bumper is slightly tweaked in that same area. There is also several very small dents on the driver’s side of the hood– It appears a winch line or chain may have whipped back and hit the hood. Other than that, o major dents, ust or damage – Just a couple parking lot dings and light scratches that would be expected. The bed of the truck is almost perfect! The wheel wells are perfect (the truck had a bedliner installed from day one) but it appears there is light surface rust under a recently installed spray in bedliner (in three very small areas) – No rust through but minor pitting can be seen in the liner finish. The only visual sign of ANY rust is in the skid plate for the auxiliary fuel tank. Typical of most all these trucks the skid plate is corroded. The windshield does have one rock chip and a crack right at the bottom center of the windshield.

Mechanically the truck runs and drives nicely! The 400 has been rebuilt and is equipped with headers, n aluminum manifold, -barrel carb. and aftermarket valve covers. The truck is very strong and is equipped with just the right exhaust resulting in a nice rumble! The clutch feels great and transmission shifts smoothly but does have a slight but noticeable whine in 2nd and 3rd gears. Nothing unexpected at 130,000 miles but worth mentioning. The truck shifts in and out of 4 wheel drive like butter with no noises from the transfer case. There are no leaks slobbers or dribbles at all from this truck! Brakes feel good, teering is nice! When cold the truck does have a noisy lifter that eventually quiets down. I believe this may be related to the truck sitting idle with very little use. Tires have about 25% of tread left – Not done yet but nearing the end of their service!

I have had and currently do have several of these trucks. This 1979 is one of the nicest and absolutely the most honest, riginal unmolested or abused truck I have or have had. It is just not very often you come across a well-cared for, ne owner survivor truck like this! And equipped with air and a factory AM/FM/CB – I guess in 1979 it would have qualified as a “Cowboy Cadillac”!

If you are in the market for a 1979 Ford F-250 this is one to be considered! Perfect to drive daily and get plenty of attention or take it to the next level with new paint making it into a real show stopper! Please feel free to contact Dean at 661-703-8402 with any questions and HAPPY BIDDING!
