1966 Ford Mustang coupe factory 289 V8 automatic
This car was disassembled and rebuilt from the ground up with 98% new parts. It has only been driven break in miles.The car is all new and completely rust free. Under the car is as new as the top- every nut and bolt was removed and replaced in the restoration . I will describe and rate each area of the car on scale of 1-10. 10 best.
Body and Paint - 10 Car was completely disassembled, ny questionable parts were replaced ( front fenders etc.) they were NOT mudded up with bondo. Base coat clear coat paint, ar painted inside and out to include all panels, nder hood, nder trunk, ash, oors, tc. underneath the car is painted Matt blac, runk and engine compartment are semi gloss black. There is no dir, rim, reas, tc under the car. Clean black paint.
Trim and bright work- 9. I only say a 9 because the vent window housings were not replaced. They are really the only item on the entire car that does not present as new. They are functiona, ut show some age and pitting. Bumper, irrors, 8% of tri, ezels, enses, oor handles, re all new.
Drivetrain- 10 moto, ransmission and rear end were all removed and rebuilt. Aluminum water pump, delbrock intake and 4 barrel carb, ew headers, uel pump, lternator, tc, tc. Again- no dirt grease or grime anywhere. All present as new. All new exhaust. Gear is likely 3:25 - good all around ratio. New fuel tank and fuel lines.
Suspension - brakes-10. All new, ront disc brakes, ear rebuilt drums, ll new shocks, ll new suspension components, ll new brake lines. Frame connectors added for strength.
Interior- 10 ALL new from carpet to headliner. TMI sport II seat / upholstery kit front and rear- including all new foam.New door panels, ranks, ick panels, hifter and plate, eat belts, ill plates, ackage tray, nst bezel, nobs and bezels, adio, love box door, love box, ash pad, eater controls, isors, eadliner, teering wheel, tc, tc.*radio is new custom sound with owners manual- wired for rear speakers but not hooked up.. Thought I would leave the radio options to new owner. * heater box is not hooked up.... I have the new hoses and will include them... I like the cleaner look without hoses in the motor compartment. Heater box is in place. * carpet is brand new- but an installer ( not me) made a cut in the wrong place and it was repaired... I have included a close up photo of the shifter housing to show this area. It is hardly noticabl, ut I did not want anyone to think I was hiding anything. Lights and gauges work, ll new rubber and window fuzzies, egulators roll up and down as they should. 95% of the wiring harnesses in the car are new.
Wheels tires -10. New BF Goodrich TA radials and 15" American Racing torq thrust D wheels.
This is about as close to a new 1966 mustang outside of a concours exampl, s I have seen. It is a super nice car and just needs to be enjoyed.
