Description
This is an excellent example of the ’61 Sunliner and is offered without reserve. The car was purchased new in Allentown PA by a 65 year old woman who had never owned a new car. She drove it sparingly over the years until she could no longer drive. In May of 1992, er estate sold it to the US agent for the Sultan of Brunai, ith expectations for the car to be shipped to the middle east. The odometer read 96247 Actual at that time. When the Sultan demurred, he agents’ son drove the car as a beach cruiser until I rescued it in November of 1993. At the time, he odometer read 8460, fter the rollover. I drove the car regularly for some time. It served as my daily driver in the Washington DC area for 14 months, nding in early 1997. At that time, he odometer read 30037, nd it was time for some maintenance. The engine, teering and front suspension were totally rebuilt at that time. In 2003, t underwent a full cosmetic restoration with new top, actory spec full interior (from ABC in Philadelphia, ow LeBaron Bonney in NY), ull rear quarters from doors to taillights, ear springs, oth bumpers, as tank and sending unit and a full set of Coker Tire wide white radials. It was invited to participate in the 2003 Hilton Head Island Concours d’Elegance. The car now has 60787 (160787) miles on the clock and is still a joy to drive. I recently drove it to Tupelo, S for the Blue Suede Cruise in conjunction with the Ford Galaxie Club of America and a couple years I drove it to SE Minnesota for a high school reunion. Nearly 3000 miles in 10 days. It has participated in two of my children’s weddings and has displayed on the plaza of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in Charlotte. For trips, have added cruise control, nd for reliability have added an electric fuel pump. No more vapor locks. I also added a better radio without cutting anything up, nd upgraded to a 4 bbl carb and manifold out of a ’64. All removed parts remain and will convey with the car. You can fly in and drive it home to anywhere in the US. Or I will consider driving it to you and you can fly me home. I have copies of all previous titles, riginal invoice from Emmaus Ford Company in Emmaus, A, nvoice from engine and suspension rebuild, nd original window sticker. I would consider this a Condition 2-, urrently insured for $55000 under an agreed value policy. A car you can drive wherever you want and still look grand at the local shows. A non-refundable deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of auction close. Full payment by certified check or bank tranfer is required within 10 days of auction close.
