1977 Jeep Cj5, owner, 1k mile rust free Arizona JEEP!
I purchased this jeep from an elderly gentleman, ad not been on the road since 09. He pulled this jeep behind his RV for many years, e said he would be surprised if it had 50k on the drivetrain. Original base model CJ with a 304 V8, spd and Dana 20 transfer case. 30 front axle and 20 rear. All stock and original other than a few upgrades I added. 90% original paint, eautiful floors and never had a radio installed.
On this clean ole' CJ, added a 2.5" Pro Comp suspension with HD shackles (stock springs were tired), ew Rancho shocks, 5x10 White wagon wheels with BRAND NEW 33x12.50x15 BFG All Terrains (not even 100 miles). New Bestop low back seats a Bestop bikini top, ld-school half doorsand the ORIGINAL soft top (in OK shape, ellowed windows etc). She has the original V8, bbl 304cu in motor thatI cleaned up with new intake and valve cover gaskets. I alsopainted the block withall new belts, oses, lugs, attery, attery cables, uel lines. I alsoadded a 50,000V HEI distributor (to remove the pesky Autolite system) and HP MSD Wires. The motor has all emissions equipment and seems to function correctly. The exhaustis mostly original and has the catalytic converter but I added a Flowmaster and 2.5" tailpipe to give it a slight rumble. This vehicle should pass emissions but I cannot guarantee that. May need some fine tuning etc. Has great oil pressure and does not over heat, ven in the 108deg Arizona summer. She seems to have a little lifter noise when you first start it and its cold. Goes away pretty quick. I believe, s does my mechanic buddy, hat its just carbon on the valves and or sticky valve and needs to be driven. The more I drive it, he better it gets. I am running "sea-foam" gas treatment in it right now. Its truly has seen less than 100 miles since 09, nd well......its a jeep.
The previous owner addedthe power steering so the boxhas very few miles on it.Thejeep is rust free, side from some tiny bubbles at the bottom of passenger front fender (again look at pics), as a few dents and dings and couple places aretouch up paint (old man with a spray can!) Please look at the pictures. The drivers fender suffered at tree branch and a "hammer repair job", oth rear corners have dents. With the patina on the hood and original paint and dents, t says "i am original"
I restore and sell Jeeps for a living. This is a great base model CJ with a very original feel. Please look at my website www.thejeepfarm.com to view some of my past projects. I LOVE LOVE LOVE JEEPS! I love original low mile CJ's. This one is GREAT! I am a fan of the patina and dents. However if you would rather have it fixed and painted, DO THAT TOO! we can discuss prices if you wish. I prefer to sell with original paint so you can see the true condition of the body. NO BONDO HERE!
