Description

1965 Lincoln Continental Convertible, rand new paint and new interior. I have driven this car less than 100 miles since the restoration of this car, just got it back from the paint shop and I just got the seatsreupholstered less than one month ago too. brand new convertible top also.
History of this car. I purchased this car about two years ago, nd have been working on her for the last two years. It had been sitting since 1982, es 1982 was the last time it was driven before I woke her up and started fixing her up. It has the original drive train in her, am pretty sure it is avirginmotor that has never been rebuilt. It has always been a California car. NEVER had any rust rot, ery solid car, ever any major accident. This is the solid California car everybody wants. I have a done a once over on the mechanics of the car and I have replaced all parts that I noticed neededimmediateattention. Many parts are still original. This car has a very smooth ride and demands respect and attention as she goes down the road. I have not had the opportunity to drive it much since I finished putting her back together. If you live in California and want the original blacklicense plates let me know.
The following parts are new (new means no more than two years old and currently less than 100 mile on part)Water pump, uel pump, most coolant and fuel hoses,Battery, oints condensor cap and rotor spark plugs and spark plug wires, vacuumadvance, uel tank sending unit. The brakes I replaced the master cylinder, ront rubber brake lines and theproportioningvalve.new tires too.
Paint and BodyThe paint job is less than 60 days old. It is a black Lincoln color. It is a base coat/clear coat paint. It has three coats of black paint and three coats of clear on her. It has not been color sanded or buffed out. I do have pics of the body before she was painted, nd I could email or text the pics if you need to see the prep work. All chrome is original. All glass is original. nocracksor breaks.
Interior New canvas top,New carpet, and both seats have beenreupholstered. The door panels are original
Power top goes up and down as it shouldAll gauges work as they should. All headlights, ail lights, rake lights, urn signals, horn work as they shouldThe clock even works (it does need the time adjusted once a week or so)Sometimes the power antenna works, ut original radio looks great but does not work.Power seat works all directions as it should.Power door locks work as they should. The Factory A/C is 100% there, ut does not currently blow cold. Irecommend converting it to 134a freon.
Only 3300 Convertibles where made in 1965. I was told that less than 550 1965 convertible Lincolns are currentlyregisteredin the entire USA. This is a pretty rare car. Most Lincoln gurus agree 1965 is the best year for Lincoln. They madeconvertiblesuicide door Lincolns from 1961 thru 1967. 1965 is the best year because it is the first year of front disk brake, t had astretchedback seat area so rearpassengershad more than enough leg room. It has the the one year only elegant grill, ne year only tail lights and front turn signal. 1961-63 did not have enough rear leg room, nd 1966-67 are kinda funky. 1964 is the second best year for Lincolns. If you are going buy a Lincoln why not buy the best year?
UPDATE ON INFO AND PRICE AS OF October 22. An internal ticking sound is now being heard. It sounds like a lifte, nd when I squirt oil down the push rods the tick sound goes away for a while. Also when the motor first starts up I have about 30 lbs of pressure, fter it warms up the oil pressure drops to about 8 or 10 lbs of pressure. It may need the oil pump pick up cleaned from old oil setting in the engine for all those years, r it may need a set of lifters instead or it may be ????? I am currentlytryingto get my mechanic to look at it and help me fix it. As of today I do not know exactly what the cause of the problem is. I would be willing to sale the car as is, ou fix it for $28k (you pay for shipping). The car does still currently run and driv, ut should not be driven any distance until this issue is fixed. My intention is to get my mechanic to fix it, ut then I will want over $30k for it My price is still very fair and reasonable for a convertible Lincoln of this condition. Call me before you click the buy it now.
For $32,000 I will pay for shipping to your house if you live in the 48 statesI would prefer cash in person.I will take a check, ut car can not leave my house until my bank tells me check has cleared.
Look at my perfect feedback and buy with confidence. All questions are welcome, prefer verbal old school phone calls, ut email and text is ok too.Danny 916 508 1306
