and 5-speed manual transmission is in excellent condition. The carburetors are well balanced giving even running idle and smooth progressive operation throughout the engine's RPM range on the road. The engine pulls like a train all the way to redline. Other cars may carry more firepower but this car's featherweight body endows it with the performance of a much more powerful machine. It does not consume oil between changes. With limited slip differential 4 wheel fully independent suspension ground breaking rear mid-engine design The galvanized steel backbone chassis is rust-free. The transmission shifts smoothly and the synchronizers are in excellent condition. New braided stainless steel line has replaced the original red plastic hose new clutch master cylinder and new transaxle mounted slave cylinder. The front suspension has been rebuilt with new bushings upper ball joints and brake pads. The brakes have a firm pedal and work perfectly without pull vibration or squeal. The rear brake pads have plenty of life remaining. The front rotors (the car has four wheel disc brakes) have been turned and do not have any scoring. The tires are in good condition with no signs of uneven wear. There is no curb rash on the light weight alloy factory BBS wheels. The suspension engineers at Lotus are perhaps the finest in the world and gave the Esprit world-class handling with a supple ride again made possible by the car's light weight. New for 1984 were lovely BBS alloy wheels wearing staggered 225/50/15 and 245/50/15 radials. The factory air conditioning was serviced this year and blows cold air. Original factory locations were used for the stereo head unit and speakers. No interior panels were cut or modified for their installation. All of the window glass is clear and free of pitting scratches or cracks. The windshield wiper blade works as it should. The exterior paint is deep and shiny for its age. There are no stone chips on the front end. Both front and rear trunks are in excellent condition. The rear trunk carpeting is near perfect. The original factory jack wrench and spare tire are present in the front trunk. The gas struts for both the front and rear trunks were replaced at the beginning of this year. All locks and latches work smoothly and correctly. This Turbo Esprit is a well maintained driver's car. It is an unmolested driver. The car is driven by mature non-smoker owners. As such the listed mileage is approximate since we continue to drive and enjoy the car and will do so until it is sold. It has never been accident damaged or tracked. It is always garaged and everything on the car operates correctly. This car is fast quiet smooth and fully sorted. It needs nothing and is ready to drive anywhere.
