Description

This Miata began as a solid, ust free, ell cared for vehicle with tired mechanicals. Sat in a friend's garage for nearly 2 years. I needed a project and decided this was it. It has been either up on stands in my garage or at a professional Miata specialist for the last 18 months. I am 70 years old and just do not have the health to take advantage of the car. Never been autocrossed but it should be. Has less than 3,000 miles on the build. Paint and interior good. Has minor issues but is all stock. Not a boy racer sort of look. Basic model with roll up windows, o cruise control, tc. so there is less that can go wrong. The car meachnicals have been entirely rebuilt. Everything works just as it is supposed to only much better. The odometer is meaningless since from the radiator back and tires up everything is new, ebuilt, ested good, r reconditioned.
Started with the Flyin' Miata handbook on performance upgrades. Most parts are sourced from Flyin' Miata ("FM").
Brakes: 11 inch Stoptech slotted rotors, 7 Miata brackets, ebuilt '97 calipers, tainless steel lines, ew master cylinder, ilwood proportioning valve, awk blue pads. It stops.Suspension: FM VMaxx adjustable coilovers, M sway bars, acing Beat end links, eplaced weak rubber with new rubber. NB bushing upgrade. Rebuilt steering box. New wheel bearings and races. Corners flat and now set at street settings. Chassis: Original chassis was solid with no bends on rails but decided to stiffen it up with 949 steel rails and went all out on Boss Frog twin hoop rollbar that saddles the tunnel and stiffens laterally. Added front tower strut bar.Transmission: NB 5 speed from 2001 car with 76K miles.Clutch: Exedy ProKit Stage 1 clutch disc, ressure plate, hrow out bearing with light chromalloy fly wheel and new clutch cylinder.Engine: FM conversion kit on 1997 1.8L with about 85K miles. Motor resealed, ew main seal, ose seal, asket kits, iming belt, ater pump, dler pulley, oses, am sensor, il pump etc. from FM. New or rebuilt MAF, PS, am sensor, 2 sensor, enso plugs, agnecor wires, low matched injectors. The car moves quickly but still passes CARB tests. Easily cruises at interstate speeds in 5th gear with A/C on. Radiator: All aluminum large capacity.Exhaust: CARB legal Magnaflow with low restriction catalytic converter.A/C: Professionally converted to new coolant. Blows cold. Does not lug down the 1.8L engine like it did the 1.6L. Idle all day in traffic with A/C on.Steering wheel: NRG wood grained with removable hub.Top: near new Robbins cloth with glass rear window professionally installed. Miscellaneous: New ignition switch, uel pump, uel filter, loor and tunnel insulation, attery, lpine deck with bluetooth, indshield.
