This is a Mercedes Motoring car. If you don't know this company you should definitely check out mercedesmotoring.com. They only deal with original and mint condition cars. Really beautiful stuff. But granted, f you buy a 560 from them it's going to cost you probably 2-3x as much...
I purchased this car about 4 years ago from those guys and I'm told the only previous owner was a nice old lady who lived in Florida and mostly kept it in her garage. All of the miles I've put on have been in California which means this car has never come anywhere near snow or salt. Given the fact that this car is 30 years old, 20k miles is actually quite low, specially when you consider all of the mileage is documented and completely original. (Something to look out for when shopping elsewhere.)
The car runs beautifully and as you might already know, t comes with both a hard top and a soft top. I'm proud to say both are in great condition and will be included in the sale. Along with that will be a stand for the hard top (very difficult to store without it), cover for the hard top, cover for the entire car as well as window shades which are useful in protecting the dash.
In an effort to be as open and honest as possible (and to save us both time/energy) here is a list of all the details I know about the car:
-The radio is not original. I replaced the old one with a CD player and new speakers when I got it. The new radio also has a USB input.
-Sadly my girlfriend got into a fender bender a couple years back and as a result we had to replace the rear left corner panel. Vaco Mercedes (my preferred shop in LA) did some great work to match everything but if you look close enough you can see some imperfections which give away the fact that it's not original.
-Several imperfections in the original paint (see photos for details). Nothing out of the ordinary for a 30 year old car with original paint but worth noting nonetheless. Once I noticed the first spot I immediately got the cover and started using that. Makes a big difference and, gain, 'm happy to include it for you.
-Several cracks in the dash (see photos for details). Again nothing out of the ordinary for a car of this age but with mentioning. Once I noticed the first one, bought the sun visors which seemed to help. Again those are all yours if you want them.
-The car may need a new battery. This one is 50/50 as I know the alternator is working well but frankly I haven't driven the car enough lately to keep charge in the battery. You may very well buy it and drive it for a couple days and the battery will be good to go. I'm just not sure and I want to be as honest as possible here. But again, lternator is definitely 100% so no major worries.
-The AC/Heat blow about half the time. This is a known issue with the 560s and though it started a couple years back, opted not to fix it as I drove with the top down pretty much every day.
-There are two visible cracks in the wood that lines the center console. One is near the shifter and the other is next to the glove box. I've attached photos of both.
-The center armrest is showing its age with cracking. I'm happy to report the seats and the rest of the interior look pristine but the armrest needs some love. I've also attached a photo of that.
Other than that the car is a real beauty and in incredible shape given its age. Frankly I could probably get a bit more than I'm listing it for but I'm pretty bummed to see it go and sort of just want to get it over with. So let me know if you'd like to come take a look or give it a spin. I live on the east side of LA, ear Los Feliz. Thanks!
