Condition: Here is a more in depth review on the car:
Positives: The car runs and drives very well, it has been serviced regularly and all records of service for the last 8 years or so are available. The car's turbo provides it with some very nice pick up and speed. The car's front suspension was rebuilt not too long ago and the rear axle was replaced recently, so the car handles very nicely. The car is accident free. The car is very clean overall, including all mechanical parts, such as the engine, transmission, engine bay, wheel wells and undercarriage - all areas are also rust free. The seats have plenty of spring in them and have no fading, rips or tears. All power options work well and all carpets are original and generally in good shape. Original wheels in nice condition with good tires.Overall a well maintained, fun to drive, original and rare Mercedes 190d 2.5 Turbo.
Negatives: First and most important is rust, it is important the next owner realizes this car does have some rust spots, although they are minor. (All rust locations have been photographed). The worst rust spot is the rear near the license plate. This is easy to reach but has created a small, dime-sized hole. Other areas include light surface rust around the inside lip of two doors, and a bubbling up under the trim on the outside of two more doors. UNDER CARRIAGE AND WHEEL WELLS ARE RUST FREE. The original becker radio does not work, the Ac does not blow cold and may need a new compressor or a rebuild on the current one, the dash has two small cracks, the center console is missing a piece of wood and others have chips with some small tears around the area in the vinyl. One small section of carpet next to the driver's left foot is missing. Headliner is good but may need to be spot cleaned. some vinyl around seat belt loops are loose, and antenna housing is loose.
History: This 1987 is a Turbo Diesel 2.5, the only year that was made available to the US market on the w201 2.5 Turbo Diesels. I have had the car for about a year, driving it daily and have taken it on several trips. I have full confidence in taking this car across the US right now. Prior to owning it, we maintained the car for 7+ years for the previous owner. This was never a northern car so no floor pan rust issues. Again, well maintained, lightly driven and in general, a treasured vehicle. It's my hope that the next owner is an enthusiast that realizes the value of this limited and truly amazing vehicle.

For sale is the infamous 1987 190D 2.5 Turbo Diesel. Overall, this is a great car. It's fun to drive, it's mechanically excellent and has been well maintained. The automatic transmission shifts smoothly and has been serviced regularly, while the engine runs and drives very well with the turbo providing some fun pick up in terms of acceleration, engine has also been serviced regularly. The car starts up well in the cold and gets great fuel mileage as well. Cosmetically the car is good, but does need some work here and there. Surface rust is present in small amounts, but only in easy to reach/fix locations. Seats are in great shape as are carpets. Dash has a couple of cracks, but car comes with a dash mat. Becker radio does not work unfortunately and a small section of wood is missing around the dash, along with two small tears. The car's AC does not blow cold, but all buttons function. Car features power windows and sunroof which all work very well.
