Description

This 380sl is a project, t was bought it a year ago and I have done work on it to make it a daily driver. It wouldn't take much to get it working as a fun daily driver or would serve as a great parts car. Currently it needs the timing chain assembly repaired - it rattles because a tensioner has broken and shouldn't be driven until this is fixed. Has both soft top and hard top (hard top has new seals and comes with home-built stand) and the interior is in relatively good shape other than small rips in seats and stains in carpeting. Dashboard has no cracks. I have many parts including fender trim, ust need one piece of side moulding that was damaged by the previous owner. Currently the car is painted with Plastidip.
What I've done:
Body:
-Both front fenders are new (passenger side fender was crumpled from an accident before I bought it, he other was rusted.)
-Removed rust on the lower rocker panels.
-Hard top has new weatherstripping
-New headlight and turn signal
-Newer tires (as of Nov 2014)
-Paint: Plastidip paint job (removable rubber-based paint, he original color is beige)
-New drivers window
Mechanical:
-New rear brake rotors and pads (I have new rotors for the front in a box)
-Regular servicing and oil changes
-New fuel pump, uel pump line and filter
-Rebuilt power window switches
-New sway bar end links (rear suspension)
What it needs:
-Windshield needs new seal - leaks during rain
-Top is older - has some tears and stains
-Passenger window needs to be repaired - fallen out of its control arm
-Seats have small tears
-Stereo/radio does not work
-AC does not work - it needs a new thermostat
-Timing chain assembly repair - new tensioners and guides (one guide was replaced in December)
-Car runs hot after a while during driving - potentially leaking coolant
-Transmission shifts hard
-Muffler needs to be reattached - this car had a secondary muffler to keep it quiet so its not terribly loud currently
$2500 o.b.o.
Drives well other than timing chain issue and the transmission shifts hard, 've used it as a daily driver and enjoyed it very much.
