Description

1992 Mercedes 500E (built 5/92)

127,762 miles

WDBEA36E8NB775955

I have been around Mercedes since I was born (dad had a 3.5 coupe and a Pagoda), nd I still own two (a 1966 and a 1989). During the past 40 years, ur family has only had one mechanic, nd he asked me to help him sell this 500E – he has two of them.

Very good quality driver; known history. Just had engine-out service for all major mechanical items – the timing chain had not jumped, t just hadn’t been addressed in 127k miles. See more details below.

Originally a Texas car, ut has been moved around from Utah and Arizona, nd then back to Texas. Current owner has had it for 5 years, revious owner had it for 11 years. NO RUST, ut being a desert car, he top and the trunk were repainted due to thinning paint (the hood was not repainted, f that tells you how minor the “thinning” was). The steering wheel was recovered, ome fade on the console wood, ut the dash is original and uncracked. Front and rear glass were replaced (crack on front, elamination on the back) since they were out for paint on the top. Paint looks excellent – no cheap work.

Mechanically, t just had an engine-out service (all MB parts). Everything done:

  • Timing chain, ails, ensioner

  • Water pump

  • Rear main

  • Cap, otor

  • New rebuilt steering gearbox

  • Motor mounts, ransmission mount

  • Alternator/Fan support

  • Rear pneumatic shocks and air cells

  • All fluids replaced

Has VIN tags on hood, umpers and rear deck lid. Couldn’t find them on doors; not sure if they were ever on there. Body and gaps very straight. No door dings on it, ut a few minor scratches here and there – nothing serious. Overall, he exterior looks very good and the interior looks very good. Tires have lots of tread, ut are almost 10 years old. AC is R134 and cold; no funny smells.

You won’t need to spend any money on this car for mechanical reasons – it runs great, rives straight, rakes straight. Probably gonna want new tires. Fast and comfortable. Like I said – it’s a very good driver.

I won’t divulge the reserve, ut the reserve price is very reasonable. The car needs to be sold. Clear title; car is on west side of Houston. Email me with questions, f you have any.Car is sold as-is.
