Description

You are bidding on a 1955 Mercury Custom. 4 door sedan. Mercury's were restyled in 1955. They were longer. lower and wider. The 1955 bore a definite resemblance to the 1954 models. The custom series had slightly different side chrome than the other series. All 1955 Mercury's featured a wrap around windshield and hooded headlights. It is from a smoke-free home. I purchased the car from a woman in Waseca. MN. She told me she bought it at an auction in South Dakota. She said the only thing wrong with it was the battery. I got it home. put a battery in and still did not start. I had my mechanic look at it and it needed a lot of work as you can see from above. My mechanic did some of the things we could not do ourselves. He was able to get the car to run but it still needs work on the vapor lock and needs an electronic fuel pump. The car has been stored in the garage since I purchased it. ALL NEW. brakes and lines. fuel lines. gas tank. shocks all around. springs. Carb rebuilt. A-frame in front. Radial tires that fit car. New suspension from Kanter. Fender skirts new and still in box. All chrome in good shape. Manual tranny. 3 speed on the column. Original paint job. Very little rust. Clear title. "The only place the car has Bondo is on the drivers rear quarter panel. Very little rust. The only thing I have not done to the engine is getting the vapor lock taken care of. I was told it needs an electronic fuel pump (only acts up when its really hot out). When purchased was told it needed a battery. I got it home. put a battery in and still did not start. I had my mechanic look at it and it needed alot of work. My mechanic did some of the things we couldn't do ourselves. Was able to get it running. Needs interior reupholstered. It is hard foam but material is in good shape. Paint is original. "Car is sold "AS IS" with No warranties implied. Buyer is responsible for all shipping costs . Buyer pays all fees and taxes.
