Description

There are a lot of Mustangs out on the road but it's getting harder and harder to spot a Cougar. And there's no Cougar like mine. It really is a beast and the center of attention everywhere I take it. I've never owned a car quite like this and it took me a while to get used to the torque and horsepower. It's as powerful and aggressive as it looks. The best part is how awesome it sounds. It was even used a few years ago for engine sound effects in the video game Forza 4. The YouTube link is below (they flew in people from England to hear mine and other cars).http://youtu.be/I07SwrI89HsI'm really not much of a car guy or gear head. So when I found this car I was looking for a nice classic I could just buy drive as is and not have to worry too much about things to fix. I wanted something unique; something different that what everyone else was driving. And that's exactly what this car has turned out to be.I've driven it almost daily now for 3 1/2 years and the major issue I've had to deal with was replacing the MSD box when it went out. Here are some of the specs:408 Stroker Engine (351 Windsor).4 speed automatic and 488 gears on a 9" Ford rear end.The engine and transmission were built/installed a few months before I bought it.Alarm with ignition lockDisk brakes (front - rear are drums)Newer Master CylinderPower steeringB&M Shift KitTraction barsAir suspension (in rear)HD springsOriginal interior with aftermarket Alpine CD Player with iPhone/iPod hookupAll chrome is thereSequential tail lights work perfectlyPop up headlights work perfectly alsoNew clarion speakersCobra steering wheelTac oil pressure water ampsMSD ignition and capLarge 3 section radiatorCustom Mercedes shroudNewer heater core water pump alternator starterNew battery - mounted in trunkCustom shaker hood scoop with K&N air filterNewer BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires on 15x8 American Racing rims (painted black)Rear Mustang spoilerSway barsCustom 2.5 dual exhaust with 3 pipesSummit HeadersNew Fuel linesNewer sealed fuel tankThe previous owner told me he put over $80000 into this Cougar and that Dyno came in around 400-420HP.Interior is in great shape and most all stock. There is a rip in the drivers seat. I have extra material you can use to replace the torn section or you can buy new seat coverings fairly cheaply.I also haven't seen any signs of rust on the car. The paint isn't perfect but it's very presentable. The biggest issue is a section of paint that literally popped off the cowl during a very hot day in the California Central Valley (see picture). I was told there was just too much paint sprayed in that area. It's primered below so there's no risk of it rusting. It's an isolated area and a relatively cheap fix.A previous owner took this car from California to Washington State where I bought it. I drove it home 900 miles from Seattle so I know it's solid. It's registered in CA with black plates. You can drive her today and have no problems. It wouldn't take a whole lot to make her a show car. You're just not going to be disappointed. You can take pride in knowing that you can drive this car in all 50 states and not a single person will have a car that looks like it. She's truly an unique car.
