Guaranteed to get smiles, aves, humbs-ups, nd comments at gas stations. We've even had notes left on the windshield.
Not many of these on the road anymore, nd I was happy to help this one survive a bit longer. Purchased 5 years ago and fixed it up a bit for a daily-driver for my wife and kids. (Yes, his has the kid-favorite "jump seats" in the back, hich can be folded down along with the back seat for plenty of storage… I've routinely carried my mountain bike back there).
Maaco paint job is just a couple years old, ith custom real wood veneer (Cherry, tained & varnished) accents along the rockers and tailgate. Turbine wheels with Lincoln/Mercury caps!
The good:
- classic wagon (you'll hear "Family Truckster" comments from total strangers)
- seats 7
- 5.0 V8 motor (302); AOD overdrive tranny
- runs like a sewing machine
- plush leather seats
- LS model was top-of-the line: auto headlights, uto temp control, pera lights, ornering lights, tc
- not too high mileage for 30 year-old car
- new heater core (that was not a fun job)
- aftermarket sound system (CD, ux input, x9s in the rear, idden amp, emote)
The bad:
- classic "old-car leaky"; drips when parked
- A/C doesn't work — I prefer windows down on these old cars, o never even looked into it (fuse? motor? compressor? don't know)
- headliner starting to droop a bit
- bottom cushion of back seat torn; we use a color-coordinated Mexican blanket (looks great)
- driver's door needs to be locked with key (all other doors lock with power)
- wood accents starting to peel up in a couple of places — easy to fix in the summer temps when more pliable
UPDATE: I can also include the wood-grained side trim pieces and roof rack that originally came on the vehicle if buyer prefers.
