1974 MGB
Last year of the metal bumper cars!
VIN: GHN5UE354822G
Remember how much you cared for your first real girlfriend back in junior high? When I was in the ninth grade, ine had the coolest Dad in the whole world! He worked as a regional British Leyland rep here in western Washington and they had an MGB much like this car. He even let me drive it around the block several times alone – something my father wouldn’t EVER let a 15 year-old get away with! Over the years I’ve owned many vintage British roadsters and this has been one of the most fun to come my way in a long, ong time. I recently acquired it from the daughter of its long-term owner here in a small western Washington town.
If you’re in the market for a great driving, ell-kept, intage daily driver please give this “B” your kind attention. You’re also welcome to contact me with questions or to discuss a sale before the end of the Ebay listing. My name is Mark Thompson and I can be reached at 206/914-1173
CONDITION:
The photos really tell the car’s story. In the spring of 1974, his roadster sold locally here in Seattle and has been in the Puget Sound region ever since. I take pride in these vehicles and feel that you should know as much as possible. Accordingly, ere is a list of the good and also small things possibly needing attention: Even when cold, ith virtually one turn of the key, he peppy 1800cc four cylinder fires right up with choke engaged and a few pumps of the gas pedal. Of course the four speed manual transmission shifts smoothly, ust like it should, ith NO clutch slippage. Notes that came with the car indicate both the brake master cylinder and slave cylinder were recently replaced and the entire system was serviced. Portions of the exhaust have also been replaced within the last few years. I added a new 12-volt battery in December.
It looks like one paint respray’s been done by the previous owner to the original medium blue color. The factory glass is great. All the original exterior chrome and trim is good. Each factory wheel is wrapped with a 175SR14 Goodrich radial, ll with at least 80-90% remaining tread.
I think you could get a bit more use out of the vinyl top though there are several cracks in the left plastic window panel (perhaps it alone could be replaced). I’ll be sure to include the boot cover for the top tucked away in the trunk along with the rear seat cushion you see pictured. It’s difficult to fit with the safety roll bar installed. Take another look at the interior pics. Both front buckets seats have been reupholstered and are in excellent shape. All carpets have been replaced by the past owner recently. Both door panels are in above average condition. I’m sure you’ll appreciate the nice AM/FM player with removable faceplate. Speakers and a booster amp are mounted in the trunk. About the only things still needing to be sorted are a new temp sensor (the gauge doesn’t register) and tracking down a spare tire for the trunk.

Over the years I have shipped many vehicles around the country and am happy to deal with any transporter you choose. I'd strongly suggest that you get a bid from Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS). They're Ebay’s preferred transporter and will give you a fair quote. Call my designated rep, b>Brad Simon, irectly at (908)290-1575 and be sure to give him my affiliate number (2362642) so he can pull up all our information for door-to-door or even less expensive station-to-station price quotes.
As an alternative, ou might also check the U-Ship.com website. You’ll be able to choose a transport broker from multiple offers. The zip code for pick-up would be 98002 (Auburn, ashington). Shipping of the vehicle and company chosen are the responsibility of the BUYER.
