Following decades of remarkable success on the racetrack and on the sales floor with its beloved four-cylinder sports cars MG experimented with six-cylinder power in 1967 with the release of the MGC with was able to bridge the gap in BMC's product line created at the end of production of the ever popular Austin Healey 3000. With 145 horsepower and plenty of torque on tap the MGC was the most powerful car MG produced during the era even trumping the later V8 MGB of the Mid 70's. Road tests revealed a MG that was quicker in acceleration and a car that offered a much higher top speed exceeding 120 mph. MGC production would only last three years with only a total run of about 4551 C roadsters produced.
