This is my 1962 MGA MKII that has been torn down and the restoration process started. This is originally red with black interior (highly desirable combination). At some point someone painted it blue. I have too many projects going on now so I'm looking to sell this rare gem. The car comes with all of the items pictured as well as some additional parts many are new from Moss. I have a clean title from Virginia in my name ready to hand over to the new owner. What you need to know:
- Orginial 1622 motor - stamped and seen in the picture.
- Rare cylinder head - stamped with "16" which is the correct head for this motor.
- Plates - plates are correct for this motor
- Cyliners - new heads never fired in motor
- Crank shaft - "BA38AX" - correct for 1622
- Motor caps - all 3 caps not from this motor and will need to be machined but you'd have to do this anyway
- Transmission included
Work underway/new:
- All new rails for the floor pans (which are wood don't have but can get at Moss)
- New rockers
- New seal plates
- New tonneau studs
- New window braces
- New cockpit wood and hardware (over $400)
- New cockpit aluminum corner rails
- Repaired fenders
- New front and rear fender bolt kits
- New bumpers
Whats needed:
- Body has surface rust. You can see where I sanded down to make repairs that the metal is still strong and good. A sand blast or sanding is all that is needed
- Finalizing the alignment of fenders
- Restore suspension systems
- Motor to be rebuilt all of the critical 1622 motor pieces are here
