1975 MG Midget for sale. Runs and drives but does need work. It's something of a project. Since I started grad school, just don't have the time to put into it. This could be a great little car for someone, nd I hate to see it not utilized to its full potential. It is a very fun little car, nd attention-getting wherever I go in it. I really hope someone that can do some good with it ends up getting it. The car is available for local pick up in Baton Rouge or you can arrange your own shipping. If you need a shipper, can refer someone semi-local that has very reasonable rates.
The following work has been done to it within the past year:
- has a new set of tires (~45 miles)
- new alternator (7/14)
- new water pump (7/14)
- upgraded to Pertronix electronic distributor and ignition coil (7/14)
- new clutch hydraulics, aster and slave cylinder as well as the line were replaced (8/14)
- tie rod ends (8/14)
- thermostat(7/14)
I do have brake parts as I was preparing to redo the brakes. I have front pads, otors, oses, nd hardware along with a master cylinder. Brakes work, ut I was looking to be proactive and keep the car in good condition before any issues arose. I also have a spare carburetor and alternator that go with it, hey need to be rebuilt though. It has a full size spare, ire iron, nd some miscellaneous odds and ends in the trunk. There's some wire, ire terminals, tc. I also have a tow strap and plug-in personal fan that goes with it.
Known issues:
- trunk pan needs repair
- runs slightly rich, eems like the float or something may stick at times, ould probably benefit from a carb rebuild
- some electrical issues will need to be addressed. Things like the dash lights, orn, tc. I believe the problem is in the fuse box, hich is a quick easy repair.
- seals- needs seal around trunk and where top meets the windshield
- body- has a few spots of surface rust, s well as a couple areas that need to be smoothed out. Previous owner sprayed a quick paint job on it, ut it will need to be redone at some point.
- I can't think of anything else, ut will update if I do
All in all, t's like any 40 year old car that hasn't been completely restored: it's going to need some things. It is a very fun little car, and attention getting. I love the car and hate to get rid of it. However, am in graduate school pursuing a Phd, nd just don't have the time that it deserves. As such, would rather let someone that is capable of putting what it needs into it, nd it is a real concern for me that someone that will take good care of it ends up with it. With some attention, his could make a great little car for someone. If you have any other question, lease do not hesitate to ask as I will be glad to answer as best as I am able.
It is listed for sale locally, nd auction may be canceled if sold. If you have a low feedback score, ontact me before bidding.
