This is a 1959 Opel Rekord Olympia 2 door sedan. It has the original 4 cylinder type engine with a 3 speed transmission mounted on the column. The interior is very presentable shape and I think it was previously restored, ncluding the headliner. The engine was out of the car when I received but it is currently resting inside the engine bay now. It has new motor mounts from Europe. The engine has not been started since I have owned it and I know nothing about it.It has the radiator, starter, enerator, arburetor and cabling to make it complete. It has 13" tires that are mismatch but hold air. It has a sticking brake shoe from sitting but will roll. the car has all of the trim moldings, hub caps, eys, itle, nd spare tire. The Opel was originally from Texas I am told and the floor pants seem to be complete. The outer shell needs some attention and there are aftermarket rocker panels included in this deal. There was a large creased dent that I managed to straighten in the driver's side fender. It still needs to be finished. I recently purchased two manuals for the car and they will come with as well. They are very detailed and will help you restore or repair the car as you go. I have found several vendors that still support parts for these cars, o that is not a problem. This car has been said to look like a small 55 Olds. It is bigger than a Nash Metropolitan but smaller than typical shoe box cars of that era. Its a neat car and would be an easy project. I am getting relocated by my company and will not have the time to play with it for awhile.
I will help with the loading of this car to the paid highest bidder.
