Description
On offer from my collection of cars is an exceptional example of a 1974 Jensen Interceptor MK111. that was restored to a show finish condition in the early to mid nineties. This one family owned car. has won 3 awards at car shows and comes as complete as imaginable with the original manual. service manual etc. and even with the original first aid kit. The original white glove must be somewhere in the garage. Everything works on this car. with the exception of the Kienzel clock. which even though was replaced during the restoration. failed to work shortly afterward. This car comes with extra items. some hard to find. others reconditioned replaced items. Partial list of work done during the restoration. Body: Complete strip down to bare metal. with necessary work done and then refinished to show level condition with Glasurit paint and anti-scratch clear coat. Rubber parts were replaced. Major chrome parts were either refinished to show level condition or replaced with new parts. All emblems were replaced. Interior: The interior war removed and professionally reconditioned (dyed). The Burl walnut console and transmission cover were refinished. and the 8 track hole changed to DIN standard. The gear stick knob was replaced with a new leather covered knob. The steering wheel was changed to series 4 type wheel. and the original preserved. New Kienzle clock installed. Nakamichi premium CD sound system with new speakers installed in the original speaker enclosure. Engine: Exhaust manifold replaced with ceramic coated headers. with the original manifold ceramicly coated and preserved. The steering shaft was replaced with a redesigned shaft. and the flex coupler replaced with a vibration damper. The Adwest steering rack was refurbished. and the seals were replaced with much better seals. hence no more having to live with minor leaks. The alternator. because of its inadequate current output was replaced with a 105Amp Delco CS-130 alternator. Both the engine harness and the fuse panel were replaced. with the latter replaced with a circuit breaker panel. The A/C was converted from R12 to R134a. a very simple process indeed. The radiator and radiator fans were replaced. with the original Lucas fans boxed and stored. The remote oil filter pedestal lines were replaced. The heater valve was replaced. Heater hoses replaced with Gates heavy duty green stripe hoses. Suspension: All ball joints etc. were replaced and upgraded where necessary. The shock absorbers were replaced with a NOS Girling shock absorbers. which provides the proper handling due to the correct valving. The rear leaf springs were re-arched. Exhaust: The exhaust system was replaced with a stainless steel replica of the original. Wheels: The wheels were refinished. Miscellaneous work through during the years. Timing chain and plastic sprocket system replaced with Cloyes true roller system rated for 7000 rpm. The original distributor was replaced with Mopar performance distributor. The radiator was replaced with a redesigned 5 row radiator and the engine fans were replaced with Bosch fans. The original Carter Thermoquad was replaced with Edelbrock 1905 (Quadrajet replacement for Thermoquad). The transmission pan was replaced with a deeper finned cast aluminum transmission pan. The fuel pump was replaced. The starter motor was replaced with a high torque fast winding starter motor. The thermostat was replaced with a high flow 180 deg. Robertshaw balanced thermostat. The brake master cylinder and reservoir were replaced. The engine mounts were replaced. The battery was replaced with yellow top Optima spiral cell gel battery. Recently performed service: Coolant flushed and water pump replaced with Edelbrock 8814 water pump. Brake system flushed with the required Castrol GMA brake fluid. Synthetic Oil and filter change. Ignition tune up with replacement of the distributor cap with brass insert cap. rotor. spark plugs . allast resistor. coil and spark plug wires replaced with MSD 8mm spiral core wires. All head lamps replaced because of their age. Replaced the excellent performing Dunlop D40M2 235-60VR15 with less than 10k traveled miles. with new Firestone Precision Sport 215-65HR15 because of the age of the tires. Being a private sale of a used classic car. warranty is not provided. But you can be rest assured that. this car has. through the years been tastefully upgraded and meticulously maintained. with parts replacement due to age and unacceptability. to provide a reliable and joyful driving experience. Ballast resistors and various coils. Complete set of new lug nuts. NOS leather covered gear knob. Box of new high flow thermostats. NOS vapour separator. Distributor mechanical advance adjustment tool and springs. Complete set of new jack hole covers. Boxed Carter Thermoquad carburetter and various gaskets and insulators. All manuals (factory repair manuals. original and reproduction copy of the Interceptor 111 handbook. original Routine Service Vouchers. etc. ) E size mylar copy of the circuit diagram.
