History: This Lada was gifted to a Soviet official in St. Petersburg, ussia in 1978. It was not uncommon for high ranking officials to receive Ladas as gifts for their service to the motherland. It was used as a spare car and mostly sat in a garage for decades. The original owner gave it to his grandson and it started to get driven more often. It was then sold to a gentleman who imported it to the United States 6 months ago, nd I bought it from him.
Upgrades:
- Engine - The last owner had the engine fully rebuilt from the ground up while it was in Russia in 2014. It drives fantastic and has seen 5,000 miles since the rebuild.
- Airbag Suspension - Allows you to raise up the vehicle or slam it to the ground.
- Truck Horn - Lets people know your presence.
- Alarm - Full security system with keyfob.
- Stereo - Aftermarket deck and high quality stereo system (loud).
- Interior Bits - Steering wheel, ubtle red accents on dash, enter console.
- Exterior - New red paint job, pgraded chrome vintage side mirrors, urb feelers.
- Dashcam - Wouldn't be a true Russian car without a dashcam, ight?
Other then that, he car is all original. Brakes, ires and clutch are all refreshed and work fantastic. I can't begin to explain all the thumbs up and smiles this car generates.... especially from Europeans, ussians and Cubans. Driving it in South Florida has been a treat and the car handles the heat great. You can turn the side windows to blow air at your face because Ladas didn't come with A/C. All the hard work has been done - simply register the car at your DMV like any normal US car. Clean title in hand with no liens.
If you've been thinking about owning a Lada... this would be the one to get. Has a bunch of fun goodies... runs great... looks fantastic and is a true piece of history.
