Description
Great LakesClassic CarsProudly Presents1969 Plymouth Roadrunner2-Door Hardtop SedanWe have recently acquired this vehicle through the estate settlement of a well known collector of a large Mopar assortment of high demand autos.Hence this particular Roadrunner!Yes, t is a real Roadrunner not a PlymouthSatellite, nd yes, t is a Numbers Matching 383ciBig V8 and a 4-Speed Transmission.Mopar fanatics are great people and they know'a lot' about the vehicles they much adore so I figure we stick to the basics on this one because this Road Chicken represents itself honestly in person better than photos.ItIS a Numbers MatchingDrivetrain!383 HO Power since born as depicted from decoding the VIN.The block serial number has been verified and it does match theVINon the car.The Transmission does as well. The rear, ody panels, nd frame does too! This car has a matching driveline. The engine and transmission start, un, nd perform as intended and thereare no known issues other than lack of use.Not sure on the mileage if it has flipped the 100k mark or not, his car could go eitherwaybecause it is a well kept vehicle with good bones and is mechanically sound as a 23k mile car should be expected to be but since I did not persoanlly know this vehicle back then when new, couldn't swear by it. What I can say is that it really doesn't matter much and based on the overall condition, his is a great car to own with pride. As is common with Mopar owners and collectors, hey typically remove the data tags and certicards andwhatever else they think others may want to steal. Paranoia is definitely something in common with them in regards to those little quirky items.Anyways,,, he data plate with options codes has been removed and that is how we got it. The hood appears to have had a "N96" fresh air "grabber" option. That is missing and because I have no build sheet or data plate I can not verify of its born with pedigree but visibly this hood did have it at one point in its life. The wheels are correct Road Wheels with trim rings and correct to the time it would have been on this car.The 4-Speed Shifter and Ball is also correct and belongs on this vehicle. As we check the core options or items on this Roadrunner, hey all seem correct and justifiedly in place on the car.Look closely at 100 pictures we have posted, this car is in great shape with only a few and minor blems. The old style enamel paint has bubbled on both the passenger and driver's side lower outer rocker as well as a few blisters on the bottom of driver's door. (However, f you look closely again at the door skins, ll the original pinch welds and folds are factory intact all the way around even in the quarters). There is a small area where the paint has chipped and has lifted on top of rear quarter driver's side halfway between rear window and taillight panel.Chrome looks good as does all the stainless. This baby still has the original 'Thubwheel' Radio. --- Love those ---The undercarriage is a solid and honest as day one. No disappointments there!Trunk floor also looks really good and dry. Those of you that are familiar with these awesome Mopars can appreciate a solid trunk and undercarriage as most of these rotted out early in life.As I previously said, his is a Solid and Desirable Roadrunner! If you have any questions about this or any of ourother auctions please feel free to contactus via e-mail sales@glclassiccars.comor you can callus at (800) 510-3797. Thank you for your interest andwe look forward to hearing from you.
