1968 Pontiac Firebird
The car was first built in the late 70's by Bob Leggitt to run in NHRA A Super Modified, hen Frank Massina farther modified the car to run in NHRA A Modified Stock.
The Firebird was also in Pete McCarthy book (Pontiac Musclecar Performance) with a small photo of car and a two page article about modifying a holley 850 DP carb for NHRA class rules.
This Pontiac has a genuine 16,500 miles, nd is in good running order. pm
Motor has been detuned as i use the car for street use and track from time to time (TurnKey ready to drive) no rust never crashed or damaged at all still has the same paint as per photo's from the book the sign work is the original done with a brush .
It has stock interior seats are factory all lights,windows (factory glass) horn, ndicators, and brake, peedo, ork as per factory come's with steel hood and glass race hood all body panels are steel as are bumpers no aftermarket body panels all factory Pontiac sheet metal.
This car is road legal here in New Zealand and has to meet strict rule's to drive on the road so car gets a full inspection every 6 months by certifier so in very good order runs very well and is a good easy car to drive all brakes have been rebuilt to a high standard all bushes replaced full exhaust with mufflers, ump pipe's off the headers for racing.

400cid RAM AIR IV race engine
The Motor has had full rebuild with less that 10 runs down the strip all work done to a very high standard has 500hp at the motor on dyno with 10-1 ross pistons and pump gas with the Venolia pistons a bit of fine tuning and some track time the car should run in the 9s
500HP with 10-1 ross pistons or 600HP with 13-1Venolia pistonscomes with the Venolia pistons
Pontiac RA IV Heads ported by Flow Technology in Garden Grove, A. Max flow was 317 CFM @ .500" lift and 307 CFM @ .600 lift
Doug Nash magnesium manifold with Oak spacer.
RA V forged steel crank machined by Hank The Crank in No Hollywood, A. to a stroke of 3.593, TC is engraved on Crank

Block machining was done by Engine Dynamics in Garden Grove and balanced by Dee Keaton
Cam Dynamics Cam 325° Int -334°Exh. Max int lift was .683 @104° ATDC and exhaust .630 @108° BTDC with 1.5 rockers. Timing at .050 was 285/290
