This is for those that appreciate not having to dis-assemble and can start re-install ASAP.
"Hard to Find" 1957 Star Chief Convertible, now in the re-assembly and paint selectionstages. I have garaged and protected from the weather and rain for the past 29 years. Buyer can startthe re-assembly by choosing colors, decide to re-useold parts or buy new, and the quality of re-assembly. Example: Color choice will determine Dash painting before dash parts can be re-installed and windshield installation. Parts like engine, automatic transmission, and differential have not had a start-up since shop testing and re-assembly. The 347 enginehas a Crane 400 H.O. Cam installed and changes to the heads to accomidate. Many new and extra collected parts share boxes with the original cam. Front floors have been recently replaced. Parts you will need to replace:2 Convertible Top Cylinders, Top hydraulic pump and hoses. and door panels. The seats are the original withsmall tears and thread out of seams.
Some rust thru in the expected places due to previous exposure to the elements. Extra repair metal sheetsfor the doors comes in a box with otherparts. Body metal skin was treated with OSPHO and Self -Etching Primer after removal of old finish.The Donor Parts Car should be a good supply source for many items and metal when you let your body-man do his thing. It should also be an example for "Monkey see, monkey do" mechanics especially under the hood.
If not evident, you will be buying 2 cars andthe removed parts, such as bumpers, fenders, hood, seats, and the remaining parts that will be needed forre-installationto finish the convertible. This might be a consideration in figuring yourpick-up or shipping plans.
