Description
This is my second attempt at selling this car on Ebay. The previous "winning-bidder" refused to follow through with the transaction due to the fact that the GTO has no wiring. Allow me to make this perfectly clear (if the photos do not). this vehicle does NOT have any wiring. That said. it does NOT cost $1. 00. 00 to replace the wiring. You can buy bumper-to-bumper wiring for this car on Ebay as low as the $100. 00+ price range. Just get on Ebay and type. "wiring harness". and a variety of very low cost manufactures will appear. Also. sense the last attempt. I have mounted the Parking Lights and the left-side could use a new lens and wiring. the right side is in good shape. The Fender Wheels are mounted now also. As stated before. I am the third owner and it has been in my possession for about 4 years now. The original color was marina torques. It has been garaged the entire time I've owned it. To use an analogy. I've taken this car from the end zone and brought it up to the 60 yard line. all it needs now is for someone to kick it through the goal post. I sandblasted the entire driver's side in my garage and had some welding done to two fender wheels. one front bumper brace and the radiator housing. I replaced the fenders - one is from a Tempest and the other one from a GTO. I believe both fenders to be 47 to 48 years of age ('66/ '67). The car has all the original glass and the doors are original. It's my understanding that the frame is closed box. Iv'e put more labor into this car than anything. Iv'e restored almost all of the safety belts. polished a lot of chrome and on and on and on. Truly to much work to mention. I put on new rear shocks and coils. and new hood hinges. All the original parts are bagged and labeled and comes with a new set of body mount bushings. It was my intention to do a frame off restoration then have the welding done. after that. then drivetrain and electrical AS IN WIRING. Apart from my son getting older and wanting the garage for Zujitsu training. I have two slip disc and can no longer do the work myself. Take a look at all the photos and you be the judge (no pun intended). The transmission is a wide ratio M20 Muncie and comes with a Hurst Shifter. sorry. not all the linkages are there. Because of the hassles incurred last time and have it all negated by an indecisive bidder. I have placed the GTO with a Buy It Now price. In addition. I will seriously consider best offers. That said. I am selling my GTO locally. as in San Antonio. Texas. If you are in the area. Shaenfield Rd and Loop 1604 (North West area. specifically Wildhorse Subdivision). feel free to see it for yourself. (210) 688-2162. Ask for Ken. I'm a certified substitute teacher therefore I can take time off at will to show you the car. Because it is being sold locally also. I reserve the right to end bidding if sold. Only serious buyers please. What follows are questions asked while attempting to sell it back in Feb. :Q: Could you please explain what happened in photo #10 with the roof pillar where trunk lid intersects. Thanks. Feb-27-15A: Excellent question. Everyone please take a look at photo #5. Because I was not going to tolerate the condition of this area. I took my pneumatic metal cut-off wheel and precisely cut that area off. How did I know exactly where to cut?? Before I cut that section off. I went just outside of Dallas. where I met a gentleman selling two 1967 GTOs. and also scrap parts from other bodies of GTOs. that he had on his farm (I know. it sounds like Red Barchetta). I bought the part of the body from the scrapped 1967 GTO needed to replace the missing section that you see cut off in photo #5. I cut the body part that I bought from him to precisely fit into that missing section in photo #5. I've aligned it before and it fits perfectly. So the next step now is to clamp the piece of sheet metal. that I bought and cut out. to the area (see photo) missing its' sheet metal. Next. weld it together. then glaze it with no more than 1/16th (max 1/8th) of an inch of metal-to metal. then sand. primer. and paint. done. Q: What kind of shape are the rear quarter panels and trunk? Feb-26-15A: I removed the Trunk Floor Pan due to its condition. see photo. therefore it's in need of either a One-Piece Trunk Floor Pan or Three-Piece Trunk Panels. If I was able to continue restoring it. me personally. I would go w/ the Three-Piece; because even w/ the additional welding. it's less expensive than the One-Piece Trunk Floor Pan. The driver's Quarter Panel Skin is overall in. my opinion. good condition. There's a couple of minor dents on top (1"-2" diameter); the largest repair to it would be welding a single Trunk Extension Filler Panel. The passenger-side Quarter Panel is in need of a Rear Quarter Patch Panel and Trunk Extension Filler Panel. In addition. the passenger-side Quarter Panel had a large. deep dent; when I sanded this side of its paint and primer. I came across a lot of Bondo in this area because. for what ever reason. the person who did the body-work on it apparently didn't take the dent out all the way. If it were me doing the work. I would have taken it to 1/8" to 1/16". Therefore. replace the two pieces aforementioned and the body-work to the dent. or replace the entire passenger-side Quarter Panel with a new skin. Hope this helps. Q: Do you have the back seat. Thanks Leo Feb-26-15A: NO back/rear seat. I trashed it and was going to replace it with one in much better condition. EVERYTHING THAT COMES WITH THIS CAR - original Sunvisors. Hurst Shifter. new Interior Decals and Trunk Compartment Decals. new Firewall Carpet Guard. original Front Turn Signals and Housing. new Underhood Bumpers. new Body Mount Bushings. original Taillight Lenses. original Ashtrays. original Door Lock Knobs. original Inside Rear-view Mirror. original Dash Pad and Dash Housing. 100s of original Nuts and Bolts. and the list goes on. Q: Is there an engine with this car? thks Feb-25-15A: Sorry NO engine. but the car will come with a 4-Speed Wide Ratio Manual M20 Muncie Transmission and a Hurst Shifter.
